Many friends have asked me with bewilderment what is going on in the world. They try to understand things through the finer sensibilities of compassion, fairness, justice.
My answer is unpopular. None of those instincts dictate or explain outcomes in the world in which we presently live.
The powers that be have reduced the world to one where only hard military might is respected.
Nothing else.
There is no point to a UN where the whole world votes one way and a single veto negates the will of the entire world.
There is no point in self-appointed arbiters of human rights and justice when genocide can go on for years and no one physically stops it.
There is no point in accruing wealth when you have to park it in accounts you do not own. And when those accounts can be seized at a moment’s notice.
So, the answer to living, surviving and thriving in this world of today is simple.
Acquire strength.
Hard military strength.
And the rest will come.
But if you don’t have military power, nothing else will save you.
Didn't have appropriate armament? Would really like to know what this means. IAF was going up against a near peer force for offensive strikes; the idea that they didn't have the right weapons is a little absurd. Also, that would explain no PAF losses, doesn't explain IAF losses.
That is correct, Pakistan's response is weak, is attempting to avoid further attacks from Indian and Pak has lost deterrence.....but what else can it do? We have no money, no diplomatic support, no political cohesion, no leadership...so a bit of face saving is all we can do.
"Pakistan" did not release this video. Nobody did. Some kid with spare time took a JF-17 video, slapped some text on it and put it out. One of our "journalist" probably came across it and posted it on his own timeline. Another "journalist" picked it from him, and then on and on.
There is nothing "shot down" about this....these seem to be kamikaze drones and they are hitting targets and exploding. Pakistani forces can only watch.
Yes, that seem likely.....in addition, I think it is trying to goad Pak into a retaliatory strike on India's time frame and defensive prep, which would give IAF an opportunity to possibly even the score. It would be wise to not take the bait.
I think the logic is very clear: India was neither able to establish deterrence nor get a narrative win on Day 1 due to those downed airplanes.
The entire conversation was about Pakistan downing 3 Indian jets including Rafale.
India is looking to get parity.
I don't think this is a diversion...by sending these drones deep into Pakistan, I think this is an attempt to goad Pak into a retaliatory strike sooner rather than later and get an opportunity to possibly down a PAF jet or two through whatever defensive plan they have laid out.
Got absolutely no idea what’s going on since I’m far away but judging from what people are posting here, they’re engaging our air defense with drone swarms probably to create a diversion.
I feel they have a defense planned and are trying to goad Pakistan into a retaliatory strike which would give them a chance to possibly down a PAF jet to show the world.
I’m not sure what India wanted to do last night/this morning but it has made retaliation against Indian military bases virtually certain. I hope the Government of India explains its logic to us and more importantly the Indian public soon.
I’m not cynical on Pakistan, I just have very low tolerance anymore for nonsense and utter lies guised as “game changer” vision and plans by those in power.
But mostly, my heart breaks for the people; so many extraordinary minds and talent that want to do good for their families and the society but forced to beg for basics or exit the country, leaving their families, often times old age parents and sometimes even children behind.
People don’t realize that the cost of poor governance isn’t just economic but it is eventually social, leading to the breakdown of family units and the concept of home. And that is what is at stake here: our families and home.
Every single day that this regime and its backers continue to run this country, we suffer a decade worth of regression.

Our stance is UNEQUIVOCAL - Forgiveness is sought by the oppresser, NOT the Oppressed!
It is they who should apologize to me and PTI. #ImranKhan#معافی_آپ_مانگیں
Local media is being pressured to misconstrue what Imran Khan said in court today. His actually statement is as follows;
“DG ISPR is withholding footage on the May 9th incident. Why is he not publicly releasing it? If footage is made public and there is any nominated PTI person involved in lighting any fires , I will not only apologise but ban that individual from the party. Dr Yasmeen Rashid was nominated by me for Punjab and there is footage to prove that she was telling everyone to remain peaceful and not to enter any premises. However, if PTI’s involvement is not shown & proven then is DG ISPR willing to apologise to me for my illegal abduction and imprisonment? Will he apologise for the atrocities that followed upon me , my wife and party?
Arshad Nadeem, like every other Pakistani, has won despite Pakistan, not because of it.
Don't allow the vultures of the military regime to take credit for what is entirely his personal achievement.
