During his commencement speech at our beloved Howard, my friend Chadwick Boseman said, "press on with pride and press on with purpose.”
In his name, let’s keep fighting.
Chadwick came to the White House to work with kids when he was playing Jackie Robinson. You could tell right away that he was blessed. To be young, gifted, and Black; to use that power to give them heroes to look up to; to do it all while in pain – what a use of his years.
“You have to cherish things in a different way when you know the clock is ticking.” Rest In Peace Chadwick Boseman. Your work and your character inspire us. We’ll keep working to bend the cancer mortality curve.
My family: “stop singing along”
My brain-
Don’t say it
Don’t say it
Don’t say it
Don’t say it
Don’t say it
Don’t say it
Don’t say it
Me: I AM NOT THROWING AWAY MY SHOT
“when you see something that is not right, that is not fair, that is not just, say something, do something, get in trouble, good trouble, necessary trouble." Rest in Peace John Lewis
13 years ago, I emailed Dr. Fauci out of the blue to ask if I might interview him for my undergrad thesis. He invited me to his office, where he answered all my questions. When I sent him the thesis, HE READ THE WHOLE THING (see his overly effusive review below). Who does that?!
