A new pipeline would be welcome.

But the MOU is not just about a pipeline. It risks burdening Alberta’s existing oil, gas, and power production with Ottawa’s carbon-cost structure.

That means Alberta pays real costs now for uncertain approval later.

This is exactly why Alberta needs independence: so we can build, produce, and trade without Ottawa’s permission.

Alberta’s goal should be simple: produce more, sell more, and keep more of the value created by our resources.

But Ottawa's carbon taxes and Net Zero compliance costs move us in the opposite direction.

They raise the marginal cost of oil, natural gas, and electricity in Alberta while our U.S. competitors face no equivalent carbon tax.
