Happy 80th birthday Sir Alex. Arguably the greatest football manager of all time. Tough as nails but also a master motivator and man manager.
So privileged to have spent time with him for an interview with The Star 20 years ago in 2021.

The Star turns 50 today. Half a century of the people's paper. No mean feat for a startup that began life in Penang in 1971 and has evolved into a multi-platform content provider.
Proud and blessed to be part of the journey.
Happy Birthday The Star. Here's to another 50 π₯ππ
Discovered a new trail in Bukit Kiara - the Keladi Trail. We followed a little tributary of Sg Penchala until we reached a beautiful mini waterfall. π Parks may not be allowed to open if the lockdown happens, so this could be our last hike for a while π

Got me some nice plants at Gardenage, a plant + gardening shop that also sells coffee!
This isn't your typical nursery. Look for Kaiser, the friendly owner who can recommend the type of plants you need (and some that you don't need π). #gardening#greenie
Curry Laksa with lots of help from a ready-to-cook sauce kit bought in Spore. Fry prawns heads and add to the sauce for more flavour then remove. Blanch noodles, brinjal, toupok, bakchoy and fishcake.
Pour in the soup and voila - gone in 60 secs π

The increasing number of Vietnamese restaurants in the Klang Valley is testament to the growing popularity of the country's cuisine. I'm a huge fan, and the only local restaurant that comes close to the ones in π»π³ is Pho King in SS2. Try the Pork Banh Mi and the Beef Phoπ
Camouflage, can you spot me? πΏπ΄ππ
Finally, after three long months the Bukit Kiara hiking trail reopens! This will be my weekend ritual from now on. Blending in with the green...literally π

My first hike in almost three months. So good to get back out on the jungle trails.
A lot of the hiking trails in the Klang Valley are still off limits, but Taman Tugu is open. A relatively easy one hour hike with the giant Pulai trees (almost 100 years old) the highlight.
Steamed White Pomfret (Bawal Putih), my favourite fish dish. Real easy to cook. You need 3 seasoning sauces - soy sauce, shaoxing wine & sesame oil.
For garnish, ginger slices, tomatoes, shitake mushrooms, cili padi & spring onion.
10min prep & 20min in the steamer. Yummers π

Happy Wesak Day to my Buddhists friends. Siddhartha is set in India in the time of the Buddha, but the book isn't about him. The simple elegance of Hesseβs prose will stay with you long after you have finished the book

Essential reading during the MCO. Camus's remarkable novel about an Algerian town that is shut down because of the plague has an extraordinary number of similarities to what the world is facing today. And this was written in 1947.

This 1000-page book took me 17 days to finish! Churchill: Walking with Destiny is such an engrossing read. Highly recommended. Bought it in Oct 2018, on the day it was released in London & was lucky enough to meet the author @aroberts_andrew a week later.
