update on my last post, @Airbnb@AirbnbHelp have told @klave again that there has been no violation of their 'nondiscrimation policy'. guess that policy is 'discriminate if you feel like it'.
so queer friends, don't use airbnb. #HappyPrideMonth
@STRReform@Airbnb_uk it's the problem with the "we're just a platform, we have no responsibility towards either of the parties our platform enables ๐คก" model of capitalism unfortunately! I've learned my lesson and won't use them again
Having a really upsetting experience with @Airbnb_uk. Because the gender that a host felt I presented as doesn't match my given name, they tried to charge me extra for an "unknown guest"; then when that failed they left a review of me encouraging other hosts not to rent to me. ๐งต
@bart_read @Airbnb_uk their review policy states that they won't mediate disputes about the truth of reviews, which I suspect means I'm not going to get any satisfaction, but having wasted so much time on this nonsense this week (while having covid!) it makes me feel a tiny bit better to call them out
@AirbnbHelp you may not condone discrimination in any way, but you're currently choosing to let a negative false review of me stand on your platform when I believe the root cause is a potentially transphobic misunderstanding on the part of the host; actions speak louder than policies.
@bart_read @Airbnb_uk the host claims a "curly-haired gentleman was seen" (i.e. not by her) leaving at the same time as me & partner - which is basically an accurate description of me these days; this has wasted days of my time already and I'm thoroughly bored of it.
It's been a busy summer for short stories, with 'Homecoming' appearing in the June issue of @FartherFrom and 'A Wizard Comes to Shorehaven' in the August issue of @Metaphorosis

More writing happening over at @ljwetherby, this time the kind of wry literary listicle that hasn't been popular as a format for at least five years: nine signs you've accidentally fallen into a Thomas Mann short story https://t.co/SwzTaN5FTu
I'm not doing much of a twitter these days but I am certainly doing a writing! Follow @ljwetherby here or on Instagram for more updates. https://t.co/Ji1YLfQDJ3
