Congrats to the graduating MIAP Class of 2021! ๐ We are so proud of David, Robert, Shiyang, Ryan, Maddy, Aparna, Klavier & Zoe for their incredible academic work and contributions to the field of moving image archives and preservation! So excited to call you "colleagues"! ๐๐ฅณ
In my NYPD arrest data analysis, I come up with a map that shows felony-reasoned arrests during Mar-Dec 2020. It turns out Precinct 75 has the highest arrest counts. Surprisingly, there is a 2014 documentary called The Seven Five.

This thread by @andyzax has gotten a lot of passionate responses: "Lesson: if you donโt preserve music with care, you destroy it."
So we thought we'd share how @georgeblood_lp digitizes 78rpm records for @InternetArchive.
๐ถSo far 244,000+ sides (w/ lots of care).
@dwhockstein The recording of the presentation might be just limited to those in the MIAP department. But my thesis full-text will be made publicly available in the very near future. Now, do check out the GitHub https://t.co/cOMC9Pqzz9
I am excited to invite you all to join my thesis public presentation - "Mind Your Disc - Retrieving and archiving audio information stored in MiniDisc"
