Lukwago denied bail as expected. @mkainerugaba had said "Lukwago will be in prison for 10 years." I had no doubt in my mind that the Magistrate was waiting for the ruling to append her signature. That is why she kept on postponing the ruling from Monday morning to 2pm to within next 24 hours. The whole plot is to deny Besigye lawyers who are forceful to enable Emmanuel Baguma convict @kizzabesigye1 as quickly as Muhoozi wishes. @EriasLukwago in jail and @MarthaKarua deported.
I hope the country remembers that @KagutaMuseveni wanted the Constitution amended to stop court from granting bail. This time, even the NRM MPs refused. He vowed to find other ways. Through cadre judges and magistrates, Museveni has found the other ways. Guys our country has gone; finished!

I am in Uganda as part of the defence team representing Kampala Mayor Erias Lukwago in the ongoing treason proceedings. Of particular concern is the decision by Ugandan Authorities to deny entry to Senior Counsel @MarthaKarua, who was travelling to Uganda for the same matter and in the same professional capacity.

The right to legal representation and the independence of counsel are fundamental to the administration of justice. It is difficult to understand why one member of a defence team should be admitted while another is turned away. We call upon the Ugandan authorities to provide an explanation for this action and to uphold the rule of law and regional cooperation that underpin the East African Law Society.

I studied architectural design in Cameroon and every architect they taught me was European. Every movement, every theory, every name on the required reading list. The Great Mosque of Djenné, the Moorish arch, Great Zimbabwe never appeared on any syllabus.

Now I am studying management and every economist is Western. George Ayittey, a Ghanaian who built an entire economic framework for African development, has never appeared in a single lecture. Dambisa Moyo, a Zambian economist who argued that Western aid is destroying African economies, same.

Two disciplines. Not one African name in the required reading.

This is not only an architecture problem. It is medicine, law, economics, history. Every field is taught through a foreign lens and when a student tries to think beyond it they are disciplined for it.

We are not behind because we lack knowledge. We are behind because we were taught that ours does not count.

🇪🇸 One versatile attacking option I’d love Liverpool to consider is Víctor Muñoz.

Only 22-years-old, he’s rapid and excels in one vs one situations.

He’s a very tenacious player, hard-working. Has a low centre of gravity, quick burst and a powerful physique that allows him to push past opponents with ease.

He’s comfortable receiving with his back to goal, makes excellent turns and a good link-up player as well. Also puts in decent crosses and cut-backs.

Has a very decent shot on him, too.

12 G/As this season may not seem like much but he delivered those numbers while playing in a side who were fighting for relegation.

Has played LW and RW all season. Even played in a central role in the past.

Still raw but he’s got all the ingredients to go very far.

Could be a key player off the bench for Spain at the World Cup.

Barcelona have been linked with him but Liverpool should be there, too.
