CITY GOVERNMENT HIRED LOBBYISTS TO GET PIPELINE PROJECT APPROVED —

How did the City of Columbia, Tennessee get the State to sign off on a $520 Million Pipeline Boondoggle planned to siphon 32 million gallons/day out of the Duck River?

That is the question many had kept asking; until discovering Columbia Power & Water Systems (CPWS), a municipal utility mind you, paid lobbyists, one a former State Official, a payment of $15,000 per month to literally lobby the State Agency (TDEC).

The term of the lobbying contract is for two years, and extends until December 2026, with a total payment due of $360,000, plus the ‘expenses’ incurred; making it arguable the City is using the people’s own money to lobby against their interests — given that the Pipeline Project will raise the utility rates on drinking water by 150%.

You don’t have to take my word for it;

Read the contract between them and tell me the people ever had a chance here.
