Was a speech pathologist. Now trying librarianship on for size. Also a freelance transcriber.

@QIMRBerghofer Curious about specifics: if emotion is heightened but cognition is inhibited, I'm guessing compulsive motor behaviours have a regulating effect on NAcc activation...? But how does that motor pathway (or intrusive thoughts) also end up being initiated?
@korndiddy @GarrickBernard @kelseydarragh My husband thinks The Mummy is a "beloved film and franchise" aka a genuine pleasure of a movie. Discuss? #guiltypleasures
I am pleased to announce that I’ve decided to go net-zero on swear words and bad language. In the event that I should say something inappropriate I pledge to compensate that by saying something nice. #COP26
Some of the foundational goals from @ScienceChiefAu are also very relevant to @ALIANational ie, supporting information literacy, understanding of AI data systems, and open access to science research. Library and information professionals could support 'passing the baton'.

@KRBurgio Story of my life. I have mild sleep apnoea, probably grind my teeth, and get muscle tension. Physio exercises helped but I'm terrible with keeping them up every day.
@sarah_h_i Your reading habits feel so chaotic compared to mine! haha That said, I definitely don't read enough anymore so whatever helps people feel connected to reading is good 👌
@annikaenloe When I pressed play, my budgie immediately was on high-alert mode. She's never heard that sound before but I guess innately she knew it was a warning. Crazy, huh?
@WrightPaige @acrystelle @lissertations I'm the same! When people would offer to make me a cup at work, I'd say, "No, but thank you! I'll come with you, instead. I enjoy the process of making tea."
@WrightPaige@MeganChorusch@aliangac Just thought I'd share that a book I found helpful was "First, We Make the Beast Beautiful" by @_sarahwilson_ It talks a lot about acceptance of mental health issues and living with them mindfully.
@drchatterjeeuk It's given me broader perspective. I realise I have choices, that taking time to walk outside helps me feel better, that early mornings suit me so a job that permits them is important. I see more clearly that your job allows you to live, but doesn't have to be your life.
@drchatterjeeuk I loved the tips from Natasha Devon and Matt Haig about taking time for your mental health and being in the present. It's really relevant to my personal discoveries from taking the last 6mths off from my career to live in Japan...
"It's the tragedy of the commons...you have dozens and dozens of countries contributing between 1.5 and 0.8 million tonnes, which adds up to the climate problem. Because all the individual contributions are small no one feels responsible."
