Ito yung ironic: kung hindi nag-withdraw sa ICC si Duterte, the Rome Statute would have required the ICC's warrant to go through our local courts for processing. But since nag-withdraw na tayo sa treaty na yan, what applies is our domestic law, RA 9851, which says local authorities may surrender subjects of investigation or warrants to the international tribunal trying or investigating them.

TRILLANES VINDICATED?

After years of criticizing the Dutertes, it appears former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV finally got vindicated as the Anti-Money Laundering Council confirms the existence of several financial transactions made by Vice President Sara Duterte, which were mentioned in his sworn affidavit.

During the impeachment hearing against Duterte, Mamamayang Liberal party-list Rep. Leila de Lima randomly picked 18 financial transactions listed in Trillanes’ annexes and asked AMLC to check if this was part of their investigation.

Eventually, 18 out of 18 transactions matched AMLC's records.

“Do you confirm that, a total of 18 transactions?” Batangas Rep. Gerville Luistro asked.

“We informed (the committee) earlier that there are 18 transactions mentioned, that what we mentioned are existing in our report,” Buenaventura replied. | @GabrielLaluINQ
