Kline Lab @UChicagoHemOnc; focusing on overcoming immune evasion pathways in blood cancers and improving the effectiveness of cellular therapy in lymphoma
Very excited to share our lab's work is now out in print @JCO_ASCO! All-star lab member Alan Cooper and others develop a CD5 gene signature (CD5sig) that shows a selective EFS+OS benefit for CD5sig+ DLBCLs treated with R-CHOP+ibrutinib in PHOENIX trial...

Today at #ASH24, @AlexandraRojek presented excellent study demonstrating how PI3Kγ/δ inhibitors can delay terminal CAR T cell differentiation, an innovative approach to enhance the efficacy of CAR T cell therapy.

We’re excited to see outstanding science talks at the Jonas Center for Cellular Therapy Symposium today @UChicagoHemOnc and updates on our lab’s work shared by Dr. Kline!
Justin Kline, MD chairs an oral abstract session -"Hematologic Malignancies-Lymphoma and Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia" and Peter A. Riedell, MD discusses 3 abstracts in the same session.

🌟Exciting news alert! Scott Oakes, MD has been named Vice Dean for Clinical Science Research of @UChicagoBSD & @UChiPritzker. His expertise and leadership will undoubtedly elevate research efforts to new heights. Join us in congratulating him on this well-deserved appointment!🎉
Joanna Chorazeczewski, graduate student from Kline’s lab presents excellent data on the mechanisms underlying the bystander killing by CAR Tcells. @UCCancerCenter@UChicagoCCB@UChicagoCOI
Huge congratulations to Pete Savage, PhD, Associate Professor of Pathology on his new appointment as chair of the Committee on Immunology (@UChicagoCOI). His leadership in COI and @UCCancerCenter is invaluable. #CancerResearch#Immunology 🧬🔬

CD5 represents an easy and exportable biomarker, appears to be a surrogate for molecular subtypes in DLBCL, and should be characterized in ongoing and future studies of targeted agents that perturb BCR signaling. @JCO_ASCO https://t.co/kLwG0UJz7C

Thus, CD5sig is a useful biomarker to identify DLBCLs vulnerable to BTKi-based therapies and complements current biomarker approaches by identifying DLBCLs with genetic and non-genetic bases for BTKi sensitivity
We're excited to make our lab page debut sharing some exciting new work from lab members Xiufen Chen and lab alum @jovianyu in @CIR_AACR evaluating phenotypic and functional T cell states in cHL samples along with T cell clonality at the single cell level!
