Today our video player was temporarily down. We use videojs and get the videojs code from a 3rd party server. That server went down!

Pretty big deal for something like that to go down. Anyway, we fixed the problem by pointing to a different videojs server. All good now.

Found the root cause:
A Chrome update on macOS purged the screen share permission. This resulted in a silent error and disabled screen sharing.

How to fix the issue:
In macOS Security & Privacy, enable screen share permission for Chrome.

Bug we ran into today on Chrome on Mac OS that prevents Klip recording from starting.

Details below. If you run into the bug we have a fix too.

When we clicked Record on Klip for Chrome, a dialog popped up asking for permission to let Chrome do screen recording.

The Fix: we opened the screen recording permission in Mac OS Security & Privacy (see picture) and 1) disabled and 2) re-enabled the permission for Google Chrome. Klip recording started working again.

We're investigating this bug. We’ll update here if we find out more.
