Level 1 and 2 #ELs worked with a partner to draw the main character’s apartment as described in the novel. Great activity to get them out of their seats and looking back at the text.

I wanted to feel confident about pronouncing my #EL students’ names correctly this year, so they recorded themselves using @vocaroo and added it to a name slide. Great to practice by myself without asking the student to repeat themselves twenty times.
My often emotional 6 year old has figured out how to regulate himself on swings and will seek them out when he needs to calm down or reset. He found that outlet entirely on his own!
My anxious 8 year old has no fears when it comes to bugs, frogs, or climbing and he can set meaningful goals for himself and work hard to accomplish them. For him "meaningful" meant the monkey bars, but the goal is probably less important than the confidence he gained.
