Ixar Academy has started this in Zim and I think at one point every High School should offer a vocational route not just one or two subjects. Because a pass rate of 30% or less means a lot of those who fail end up not having a relevant skill . Imagine if you know 9 trades 🤯

The Sunday Sessions are BACK this Sunday and this time, I especially want to hear from people who disagree with me.
Do you believe AI has no place in schools? Come and tell us why.
Since starting these sessions, I have not made enough room for contrarian voices and that changes now.
There’s no requirement to agree. All we need is a serious conversation about children, learning and the future of education.

After almost three decades of service to Wits, yesterday marked University Registrar Carol Crosley’s final day at the University. 💙💛
During the final ceremony of our Winter Graduation cluster, Professor Garth Stevens, Deputy Vice-Chancellor: People Development and Culture, paid tribute to Carol and reflected on her remarkable contribution to Wits and the generations of colleagues and students whose lives she has impacted.
Carol served as Registrar for 12 years, during which she witnessed some 120,000 students cross the graduation stage.
Thank you, Carol, for your extraordinary service, professionalism and unwavering commitment to Wits.
We wish you all the very best for the next chapter and remember, you are a #Witsie4Life. 💙🏛️

I have just received this message from a @CityofBulawayo resident - a well known professional in our City:
"Good Morning Dave
Please would you extend my appreciation to the Bulawayo Fire Brigade for attending to a fire at my thatched property in Burnside. I lost the carport but more importantly they saved the main house. An ember from an adjacent bushfire found its way onto the roof of the carport. They were absolutely amazing. They arrived within minutes of being called. They displayed their professionalism in prioritising the saving of the main house with a team constantly dousing its roof whilst another team continued to control the carport fire.
I am eternally grateful to these dedicated men and women and am proud that the city can boast such a remarkable service."
We really do have an outstanding Fire Department and my congratulations and thanks are extended to the Fire Chief and his entire Department.
Amhlophe!
