Hi all,
As a part of our aim to achieve ”eco-school” status (and to save money, obviously) the SLT has decided to remove the coffee machine and kettle from the staff room from Monday. As you can’t remember the last time you drank a hot coffee, it shouldn’t be a problem.
Thanks x
I want schools open, I really, really do, but right now is the time to close them. Right now.
This isn’t about Christmas. This is about safety.
SHUT THE SCHOOLS.
ONLINE LEARNING FOR A WEEK.
I know it’s not ideal but the numbers are getting worse.
Having half of my display boards covered in MDF and painted in chalk board paint was a HUGE teacher time saving revelation. In fact, the biggest one in my career so far. Highly recommend.
On the other hand, I felt well enough to mark some books this evening. I marked the poems my children wrote based on The Tin Forest last week and what a treat they were. Go Year 3 🤩
@TrainingToTeach They’ve had to members of SLT with them- there shouldn’t be a grumble! When she was told I was unwell, they didn’t even mention to wish me better! Grrrrr but you’re right, our job wouldn’t be complete without them - keep on smiling 😅
I’ve been off sick this week. As if that’s not hard enough as it is...having a parent grumble about the amount of teachers her child has had this week was quite frankly the icing on the cake. We’re trying our best 😞
All negatives aside. I love my job. I love the kids I teach and I wouldn’t change them for the world. The paperwork, long and additional hours, etc. (You know the list) I would change in a heart beat.
Emergency services at scene of serious traffic #collision#B3227 Blackerton Cross #Tiverton - please avoid the area if able. Log 633 refers. There are no further details at this time.
@boohoo_cshelp@boohoo hi, I’ve just come out of isolation but have gone over my return date for my order, is there anything I can do about this? 😨 thanks.
Covid and/or intensive care can be seriously debilitating . I contracted it when there were no restrictions. Why return to that situation when the risk of death and debilitating conditions will be increased?
195 term days in a school year. Schools 'closed' for 10 term weeks. 3 have been 4 day weeks. Schools have been 'closed' for 47 days.
47 days is approx. 1/4 of a year.
47 days is 1/58 of a school career lasting 14 yrs (yrs R to 13).
47/2730 days.
Mostly children will be fine coming back and the curriculum will be covered. It's staff who will need support. Who wants the return of O pressure, paperwork, etc etc. The mental health crisis in schools will be adults not children.
