for years my dad has argued that what the world needs is “the travel taco” i.e. a taco with sealed edges to keep all the filling from falling out while you’re on the move. and for years my mom has patiently explained the concept of burritos.
Today a woman with developmental disabilities came into the library, and said she was lost. She didn't know her address, but her phone number was in her pocket on a piece of paper with Elmo on it. She kept saying, "The library is a safe place."

Someone at Pixar deleted all of Toy Story 2 and the backup hadn't worked for a month, and the only reason we saw that movie was b/c someone on maternity leave had a copy of it on her home computer.

I love huge high-tech central libraries as much as the next nerd, but if I had to choose, I’d rather have many small libraries in every neighbourhood. The most important function of the library system is being accessible to as many people as possible.
A fantasy anthology called “Side Quests” and it’s just a collection of stories about the people a main character helps with random, seemingly meaningless tasks, along the way to accomplish their quest.

Did you know that in real life, owls DON’T explain fossils to you? The lady at the bird sanctuary told me it was “common knowledge” and to “stop throwing fossils into the owl exhibit”. The game is called ANIMAL Crossing. You’d think it would accurately represent animals smh.

It prepares you for any job, because it teaches you empathy for other people and also, hopefully, to see education as MUCH more than acquiring skills to enter the labour market.
I really don't understand why adults shit on children's and YA fiction so much. Don't they want kids to read? It makes no sense. Also, writing for kids and teenagers is its own skill, and no easier than writing for adults. Seriously, people, do better.
