@alybputnam @sakrejda Related to this suggestion - the federal government has a "pathways" program for current students and recent graduates at many different levels of entry. I have a few friends take this route into the National Park Service as research associates/directors.
Love this story from the @MontanaKaimin about @KMBenes. https://t.co/1ap9AHAnXn Not even mentioned are @BeaFrissell and her amazing achievements winning Truman and Marshall scholarships, along with many semifinalists for the Truman and a Mitchell finalist since she took over.
@mariaht917@MontanaKaimin@BeaFrissell Thank you so much for the kind words, Mariah! You, Bea, Kolter, and ALL the students I work with make my job the best <3
Kolter Stevenson, from Amsterdam, Montana, has been named a Rhodes Scholar @rhodes_trust, the 1st time in 30 yrs a UM student has been awarded arguably the top fellowship in the world👏 The entire state of #MT celebrates this remarkable accomplishment!

NEW: Members of Montana's American Indian Caucus described this legislative session as "terrible," "partisan" and "the worst yet."
The caucus faced blatant and subtle racism in the halls of the Capitol, in elevators and on the House and Senate floors. https://t.co/RoY4iR5HEC
Check out Sea to Trees, a podcast I created with @SchoodicInst at @AcadiaNPS that tells the stories of the science happening in and around Acadia, from the rocky shoreline to the evergreen forests to the granite mountaintops. (1/4)

When a small study raised alarms about a "potential public health emergency" due to mining in Butte, Mont., the EPA in 2019 attacked the study's authors. And emails reveal EPA officials did so in coordination with the mining company itself. https://t.co/GE0tPCmA9b
@CaldwellAliya I haven't directly dealt with this (Montana never has snow days!) but if classes are canceled and the campus is "closed" I would assume any work, meetings, etc. would be canceled too. But it never hurts to check in and verify :)
this story is quite possibly my last feature for the @MontanaKaimin. give it a read — important stuff!
feeling nostalgic as things are winding down for my time at UM, but as always, I am so thankful for everyone who’s supported our work for the last few years.
Congrats to Christopher Preston, a @umontana professor who earned a major national award for his ability to bring philosophy to the masses 👏His new book, "Tenacious Beasts," also publishes this month.
