Had the most thoughtful parent send in cupcakes to celebrate all the summer birthdays in my class. It was so heartwarming to hear the students express how fun it was since they never get to celebrate their birthdays at school. @bradley_creek1

Discovered Reggaeton music this weekend thanks to @milamarianaa. Played some in my class this morning and a student walks up to me and tells me she’s never heard “her music” at school before. I was sad, happy and disappointed all at the same time. #RepresentationMatters

@GiftedTawk I use humor. If I’m teaching I make a general statement-something like “just becuase your finger fits doesn’t mean it should go there”. I later address it privately from a hygienic perspective
