The momentum of national infrastructure development continues! Today, the Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development, Hon. F.T. Mhona toured the ongoing Bulawayo-Nkayi Road Rehabilitation Project to assess and appreciate the work being done. This captures Hon Mhona's boots on the ground, eyes on the progress approach to monitoring projects.
25 km of road is currently under rehabilitation at various stages with 10 km already been primed, while 7 km is now trafficable, bringing immediate relief to motorists.
In his address, Hon. Mhona assured the people of Nkayi that the road will be rehabilitated up to Nkayi, emphasizing that the project is a direct fulfillment of President Mnangagwa's vision of leaving no one and no place behind.
The project was also applauded by local leadership. Hon. S. Sibanda, MP for Bubi and Deputy Minister for Higher and Tertiary Education, praised the Second Republic for the upgrade, highlighting how improved connectivity is a game-changer for local development and economic growth.
Hon Mhona was accompanied by Parliamentary Portfolio Chairperson on Transport and Infrastructural Development Hon T Karikoga, Representatives from the Minister of State for Matabeleland North Province, and several Gvt officials.

Transport and Infrastructural Development Minister Hon. F.T. Mhona today officially commissioned the state-of-the-art Khami Prestige Lounge and seven new units of modern ground handling support equipment at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport (RGMIA).
This investment underscores the Government's unwavering commitment to enhancing operational efficiency, elevating passenger experience, and positioning Zimbabwe as a competitive hub for travel and tourism in the region.
Khami Prestige Lounge is a world-class facility designed to meet and exceed the expectations of discerning modern travellers. The new ground equipment fleet include advanced baggage handling systems, transporters, tow tugs, and support vehicles to ensure seamless airport operations.
In his keynote address, Hon. Mhona highlighted that this development is a critical step towards achieving His Excellency President Mnangagwa's vision of an upper-middle-income society by 2030.
Further, he commended the NHS Board for the transformative journey that enhances operational efficiency, make the country’s airports more competitive as well as reshaping the image and perfomance of Zimbabwe's aviation and tourism sectors.
Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Hon B Rwodzi applauded NHS for the milestone achievement.
The event was also attended by Secretary for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Harare Province Mr C Chiringa, NHS Board led by Advocate Nyengedza, NHS acting CEO Mr Rambakudzibwa aviation stakeholders and several senior Gvt officials.
Today, Transport and Infrastructural Development Minister Hon F.T Mhona and Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Hon B Rwodzi conducted a tour of Mutare city transformative projects.
This visit underscores a coordinated whole-of-Government approach to ensure the city is ready to host the prestigious Sanganai/Hlanganani Kumbanai World Tourism Expo this September.
Key Projects Underway include 31.2km Mutare Bypass Road featuring three modern interchanges and the project is set for completion in the next 13 months promising to revolutionize connectivity and reduce traffic congestion. Grand Reef Airport runway rehabilitation upgrades are on track to accommodate inbound flights for the Expo, opening a new gateway for international tourists as well as City Roads Rehabilitation to enhance the urban landscape for both residents and visitors.
In an interview Hon Mhona commended the Second Republic for its unwavering commitment to nationwide infrastructure development and for availing the critical resources needed.
Minister Rwodzi highlighted how the Expo will put Manicaland Province firmly on the global tourism map.
Manicaland Province Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Hon. M Mugadza expressed profound gratitude for the developmental focus on the province.
Hon Mhona was also accompanied by Heads of Parastatals under the Ministry's purview and several Senior Gvt officials.
