Great story. We all have this story probably. I remember checking out early and driving 1k miles to sleep in my own bed after a similar situation. That might be the only time I was truly like f this I need a vacation.

one of my favorite fish of all time was a guy called karokiki. i know, brilliant name. from the uk, 2018.

every now and then this guy would just show up. random. like santa. 25/50 plo heads up on ipoker. not that he dumped tens of Ks a time, but it was the ease of it.

always the same $2500. one shot, no rebuys. that was the whole thing. best part? hed never hit and run. hed sit there determined to bust it no matter how much he won.

you know the famous J2 hand, garrett and robbi, where everyone screamed shes cheating. well they never saw karokiki play.

in my stories i always try to picture the person behind the account. this guy i couldnt. no idea what kind of human could play this way. even less idea how he ever had access to any money.

routine night, he sits. cool, easy 2500. hes playing batshit as usual. but some nights plo is just gonna plo.

he keeps doubling up. 5k, 10, 20, 40. winning everything. i keep reloading to the 5k max. he gets it in with 20% every time and hits. every fucking time.

3am. hes sitting with 85k. i click reload and see i only have another 5k left. im short on the site. why the fuck do i have so little on here. if i lose this buyin im done.

waitlist is 10 deep. no crypto back then, the only way i top up big is a wire. the one guy i know with funds online isnt picking up. i keep calling.

so i nit the fuck up. new plan. check call, grind him down, dont get it in light. no more fancy plays.

but its karokiki. hes gifting me back the stack. 15k. 30k. now its 45k him, 40k me. i can breathe. i think im through it.

next hand i remember to this day.

i 3bet ATT5 double suited, he 4bets. flop comes T♥4♠2♠. i flop top set and the nut flush draw. lets motherfucking go.

he pots. i click raise. now the mastermind, after careful consideration, repots in under a second. i jam. we get it in for 80k.

he turns over Q654 rainbow. pair of 4s and a gutshot. i mean sure, why not. hes got the full 10%.

turn Q. river Q. he makes QQQ44 over my TTTQQ. scoops the 80k. i sit out with nothing.

the image of that table, him sitting there with 85k, me on 0 and sat out. still haunts me.

he waits maybe a minute. then jumps on the 200/400 ring alone with 40k. two players insta sit. believe me when i tell you, under two minutes he busts all 85k. gone.

that night cost me the 80k, a broken screen, and a fractured index finger. karokiki.
