Meadville is headed to the state championship!
The Bulldogs win the fourth set 25-22 and defeat Mars 3-1.
This is Meadville’s fourth trip to State College in the past five seasons. Full story in tomorrow’s Tribune!
The amount of individual statistic recognition for high school volleyball is getting out of hand.
Your 1000 digs, or kills or assists are subjective to the JV player keeping the stats and are not an objective stat like a win or point scored. Stop giving everyone an award, please!
Checking out some numbers before tomorrow's state title match.
In the 16-team state bracket, Cochranton had the lowest male enrollment (73).
Lower Dauphin clocks in at 421. The highest in the field was 423 (Exeter).
The Class 2A max enrollment is 424.
This is two straight years in boys volleyball the west semifinal has been two District 10 teams. How long til the PIAA takes three to the state tournament?
@JoeyReynolds11@nicban4@AlexTopor_ Yes, I agree! To Nicks point, some people would love to be able to watch both games. I myself would love to support both my alma mater and my husbands team but D10 is making that impossible now.
@JoeyReynolds11@nicban4@AlexTopor_ “Giving someone a home game” has never been an issue in the past. Ever. Playoff games and D10 finals have always been held at Meadville because it’s the most accommodating. Now that Meadville has a successful program people wanna complain about “home court advantage”.
@AlexTopor_ Unfortunately, fans are only going to get to watch one of these two good matches. For the first time in decades will the semis of boys volleyball not be held at the same location (Meadville).
192 girls teams and 192 boys teams in PA can say they are state qualifiers. Maybe if we took a few less teams to the tournament there wouldn’t be a 3 week overlap with spring sports.
No way the 49ers could have won this game with a broken Brock Purdy and a concussed 4th string QB.
But this is by far the worst officiated game I have ever seen in the NFL.
Sucks that the fans didn't get the game they disserved.
Big congrats to Marci Malliard, who will be inducted into the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in December! Marci built one of the top volleyball programs in District 10 at Cochranton.
Here is the final point, the celebration and post-match interviews as Meadville sweeps Cochranton in the PIAA Class 2A boys volleyball semifinals. @MDVLVolleyball @Mdvlbulldogs @MASHbulldogs https://t.co/cHvJzaYwOL
