“Congratulations sa ating Mahalima na sina Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, at Justin! Ang tagumpay ninyo ay tagumpay ng musikang Pilipino at ng buong Philippine creative industry,” Aquino wrote.
For our Japanese A’TIN who may be wondering about the significance of SB19’s recent involvement in Philippine creative-industry policy:
It said in the video that a few months ago, SB19 met with Philippine Senator Bam Aquino to discuss ways the government can better support Filipino creative workers and help them reach international markets.
One of the major ideas being pushed is the creation of a dedicated government agency for the Philippine creative industries, modeled in part after South Korea’s KOCCA (Korea Creative Content Agency), which has played an important role in supporting and promoting Korean music, film, television, gaming, animation and other creative content globally.
The Philippines already has a Creative Industries Development Act and a council under the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), but the proposal would strengthen the government infrastructure/ network dedicated specifically to developing and promoting Filipino creative industries.
What makes SB19’s presence there is that they are speaking not only for themselves or for P-pop. Their advocacy concerns the larger Filipino creative community: musicians, filmmakers, designers, animators, writers, game developers and other creative professionals who need stronger institutional support, funding, industry development and pathways to international markets.
So SB19’s role is gradually expanding beyond being artists who represent the Philippines internationally. They are also using what they have learned from building their own careers and company to participate in conversations about how the next generation of Filipino creatives can have better opportunities and a stronger system behind them.
In short, they are advocating for the Philippines to build more of the kind of organized creative-industry support that countries like South Korea have developed, so Filipino talent does not have to succeed internationally largely through individual effort alone.
An 8yr old group w/ their own 4yr old entertainment company. Now being recognized for their contributions (long overdue imo, thank you Sen Bam 🥹). What amazes me is their involvement in the proposed bill. They’ve been true to their goals for OPM since day 1, sa salita at gawa 💙
SB19 CO-CREATED A BILL FOR THE PHILIPPINE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY!
LET’S GO, SB19! YOUR DREAMS ARE COMING INTO FRUITION 😭

Wow. @SB19Official you never cease to amaze me. This would be so huge and something truly special since music in the Philippines is clearly having a moment from spreading just by the fans, online and word of mouth. I can only imagine what could happen next with govt assistance 🙏
i love how this "bill" co-authored by SB19 is consistent with d Pagtatag manifesto where PABLO announced that SB19 is a movement. it also reminds me of my realization during their 2019 CNN Philippines interview: that SB19 is something much larger than itself

What makes this moment even more meaningful is that SB19 didn’t simply come to receive recognition. They came with a purpose and used that platform to advocate for the wider Filipino creative community.
The recognition celebrates what they have achieved, but their decision to help create a Senate bill shows that they understand success is not just about opening doors for themselves. It is also about making sure more Filipino creatives have opportunities, support, and acknowledgment.
That is the kind of impact that goes beyond awards and milestones. They are not only representing Filipino artistry, they are helping build a better space for the artists who will come after them.
Grabe na talaga kayo, SB19 🥺
@Hera080816 Feel ko nga when it was announced na they will be recognized through a resolution they didn’t see it as a mere recognition, but as an opportunity to have a voice literally 😭 hence the bill proposal

a'tin, linawin natin: hindi author ng bill si boss ha, kasi hindi naman siya congressman o senador 😭 nag-propose lang siya. ang magsusulat ng bill ay si sen. bam na magkakaroon ng collab with the boys huhu
