Canada is "the only high-income country with a universal health care system without a universal drug plan". That needs to change moving forward! Treatments that are needed outside the hospital are also very important to Canadians' health! #PHARM4420 https://t.co/IWFobwIVJB
Once our current spending has been optimized to improve health outcomes more cost-effectively we can look into expanding coverage into essential services like pharmacare to allow all Canadians to have equal access to all the areas of medicine. #Pharm4420
Unless Canadian citizens want to increase tax rates changes must be made to better allocate resources in our healthcare system. Improving where we spend is an important step in ensuring healthcare is publicly funded and there is equity in the dispersion of services. #Pharm4420
@jnlg28@keithbailey72 I agree Josh! Although Swedish residents pay high tax rates they have a strong healthcare system that is widely supported by the population because of the immense benefits it provides consistently across all individuals.
@_NickPoole_ I absolutely agree Nick, this certainly seems like a great opportunity to free up our physicians and nurse practitioners for more pressing matters during the healthcare shortage in NL! #Pharm4420
Pharmacist led clinics are transforming the meaning of accessible health care. Pharmacists in NS can provide assessments and medications to patients without a doctor. The best part? Clinics are free with NS health card! I hope to see these clinics open in NL soon #PHARM4420
This will increase the public's awareness of pharmacist’s prescribing authority and give us the opportunity to prove our value to the provincial government. This can drive us towards extending our scope of prescribing, for example, to include uncomplicated UTI’s! #PHARM4420
As our healthcare system continues to be overwhelmed, we must seek new and innovative methods to deliver care to the residents of NL. Pharmacist led clinics are a great opportunity to increase accessibility to healthcare. #Pharm4420
