It’s crazy that as a teacher with a masters and almost 10 years experience, my end of month paycheck is completely GONE after grocery shopping and paying rent. I feel like I work to live instead of enjoy life 🤦🏻♀️ So discouraging every month.
My uncle died from cancer last week. He worked for freedom mortgage and they denied him medical leave when the man was dying. All week they’ve been calling and fedexing him letters threatening his job because he didn’t show up to work BECAUSE HE WAS DEAD.

I would treat "test writing" as a separate genre, and I would only teach it right before the test. The rest of the year is "real world" writing. If kids write well, they will do fine on the tests. They will not write well if they only do test prep writing.
I was scheduled to do an all-day workshop in Texas on Thursday. Because of the governor’s order, the district could not ensure that the attending teachers would be masked (indoors, all day). This is insanity. I am not coming.
