@JaniceDean We are on our third go for our son who at 25 had a stroke and lost his ability to walk, use his arms and his hands!! This time we have an attorney. We began this latest process 1 year ago this month. Waiting on decision now. It’s ridiculous.
@alt_w_v_g Where I live we have no cell service. Without SXM we wouldn’t be able to listen to music in the car or when working on our property unless it’s already downloaded onto our phone.
@GuntherEagleman Shapiro better get off the TV and back to PA before Krasner messes up his chances of being president. People are happy to see ICE helping out. So glad we left this crazy town!
I took a break from socials because everything I read was disappointing. Then I stumbled across this guy’s post about the first conference. I’m now obsessed. He Makes Social Media Fun Again!
The follow-up parent/teacher conference was yesterday
My wife went alone
I watched her pull out of the driveway
Then I called my analyst
He was already in his car
Parked in the alley
Engine running
I wore cargo shorts
Six pockets
Pocket three had the school handbook
Pocket five had a highlighter
We arrived at 3:42pm
Three minutes early
My wife saw my analyst in the hallway before she saw me
She stopped walking
Then she saw me
She said "why is he here"
I said "support"
She said "for what"
I said "the meeting"
She said "this is a parent-teacher conference and you aren't supposed to be here"
I said "every meeting is a negotiation"
She didn't move
I held the door
The teacher was waiting
She was not alone
The principal was seated beside her
Arms folded
They brought backup
So did I
My analyst sat down and opened his laptop
He asked for the WiFi password
The teacher said "we don't give that to visitors"
He said "no problem" and turned on his hotspot
I taught him well
My wife put her head in her hands
The principal introduced himself
Firm handshake
Said he wanted to "make sure we're all on the same page"
I said "I love alignment"
My wife looked at the ceiling
The teacher pulled out a folder
Same color-coded tabs as last time
I respected the consistency
She said our son has made "some improvements" but there are still "areas of concern"
I said "can you quantify that"
She said "it's not really a numbers-based assessment"
I looked at my analyst
He looked at me
We didn't say anything
The teacher said he still "challenges classroom structure"
I pulled the school handbook from pocket three
Page 34
Section 2.7
Parent Rights and Student Evaluation Standards
I had highlighted six lines
The principal looked at the handbook
Then looked at my cargo shorts
Then back at the handbook
The teacher said there was an incident with a multiple-choice question
She pulled out the test
I pulled my copy from pocket two
The teacher stopped talking
My wife closed her eyes
The question listed fifteen gender options
My son selected none of them
He wrote "Not applicable"
Below that he wrote "Identified: Chromosome XY"
Below that he wrote "Source: Biology textbook, page 217"
With a footnote
My wife looked at me
She said "oh my god he's becoming you"
I said "thank you"
She said "that wasn't a compliment"
The teacher said "that's not how multiple choice works"
I said "was his answer correct"
She paused
The teacher looked at the ceiling
Why does everyone keep doing that
The principal stepped in
He said "the concern isn't accuracy. It's compliance."
I said "interesting. My auditors say the same thing."
My analyst typed something
I didn't ask what
My wife looked at the ceiling again
The principal said he thinks our son would "benefit from learning to work within established frameworks"
I said "he will. And then he'll spend his career fixing them."
Nobody spoke
The teacher closed her folder
The principal didn't shake my hand
My analyst asked if there would be a follow-up
The teacher said "I hope not"
In the parking lot my wife said "you wore cargo shorts to a school meeting that you weren't invited to"
I said "I needed the pockets"
She didn't argue
She said "we need to talk about this at couples therapy"
I said "only if I can bring my analyst"
She got in her car
My analyst sent me his notes before I got to mine
Formatted
Bulleted
With action items
There were none
Except for Plz Fix. Thx.

As a medical school professor, I spent years teaching that Alzheimer's is an amyloid disease. A comprehensive new review in the Journal of Clinical Medicine confirms what I now believe: Alzheimer's is a metabolic disease.
Key findings from the evidence synthesis:
-> Glucose hypometabolism appears BEFORE amyloid plaques form
-> Insulin resistance accelerates cognitive decline and tau pathology
-> Mitochondrial dysfunction correlates with tau damage more than amyloid
-> Better muscle mitochondrial function = lower dementia risk
-> GLP-1 signaling restores brain glucose metabolism and reduces neuroinflammation
The review concludes: metabolic dysfunction, not amyloid, is the central driver.
Researchers call Alzheimer's "Type 3 Diabetes" because the pathways overlap so precisely.
This is exactly why I wrote "Lies I Taught in Medical School." The metabolic root cause of chronic disease has been staring us in the face.

“Born, raised, harvested, and processed here in this country.”
“No shortcuts, no exceptions, and no confusion.”
Product of USA labeling on groceries finally means what people thought it meant all along.
Brooke Rollins just announced that to qualify for this labeling, meat must be completely American.
“No more foreign beef being deceptively passed off as America’s best.”
“It ends today.”
As a medical school professor, I teach about APOE4 -- the gene that makes you 2.5x more likely to develop Alzheimer's. We've told patients there's nothing they can do about it.
A new JAMA Network Open study of 2,157 adults just proved us wrong.
Higher meat consumption completely abolished the APOE4 dementia risk.
The data:
-> APOE4 carriers with highest meat intake: 55% lower dementia risk
-> Their typical 2.5x excess Alzheimer's risk? Gone entirely
-> Cognitive decline reversed: +0.32 standard deviations over 10 years
-> Unprocessed meat was protective; processed meat was harmful regardless of genotype
Researchers propose APOE4 is an evolutionary adaptation to meat-rich diets. The gene isn't a defect -- we just stopped feeding it correctly.
This is personalized metabolic medicine. Your genes load the gun, but your diet pulls the trigger -- or puts the safety back on.

A SINGLE DOSE of ibuprofen increased gut permeability in healthy humans WITHIN 24 HOURS.
Not weeks. Not months. Hours.
That Advil you took for your headache. The ibuprofen before your workout. The naproxen for your back.
PMID: 19148789
Each one widened the gaps in your intestinal lining — the same tight junctions that keep bacteria, endotoxins, and undigested food out of your bloodstream.
A study of 286 patients on long-term NSAIDs found measurable intestinal inflammation in up to 72% of them.
PMID: 9824604
This isn’t rare. This is the norm for regular users.
Once the barrier opens, bacterial endotoxins (LPS) leak into circulation. Your immune system mounts a low-grade inflammatory response. Insulin signaling breaks. Your body starts storing visceral fat — the deep fat around your liver and intestines that no amount of cardio burns off.
The gut damage came first. The belly fat followed.
Most people treat the inflammation with more NSAIDs. Which causes more permeability. Which causes more inflammation. The loop doesn’t break on its own.
The barrier has to be rebuilt.
A 2020 review in Current Pharmaceutical Design (PMID: 32445447) found BPC-157 resealed gut barrier integrity across multiple models of intestinal damage — including damage from NSAIDs specifically.
When I first tried BPC-157, the urgency and bloating that followed every meal improved noticeably within 2 days. Not a full fix overnight — but enough to know the tissue was responding.
I use Barrier — oral BPC-157 designed to dissolve across the full GI tract, where the damage actually lives.
Stop feeding the loop. Fix the wall.
Barrier — code GUNNAR saves 15%.

This is the best written, most true piece I’ve read in a long time. I feel every word in it. I no longer listen to ANY political podcasts and there’s not a single one I’d say I trust. We are currently sitting in the biggest wasted opportunity of our time.
@odonnell_r@JenGriffinFNC@SecWar Sometime in the past few months I heard her giving her negative opinion of the administrations decisions instead of reporting the news. I used to think she was a top notch journalist. So disappointing.
@RealJamesWoods As a homeowner in PA (fortunately we don’t live here) I can assure you there are much bigger problems than someone’s hair color. Maybe stop the electricity costs from going up December 1 @GovernorShapiro !
@mattvanswol Married 30 years next year. Always remember, speak and truly mean the words “I love you. Thank you.” We were told that at our wedding and no matter the disagreement, when you speak those words, you remember what really matters.
