When hearing parents and professionals sign with a Deaf child they don’t just give them maximum langage access and cognitive input.
By signing, they explicitly say to the child, on a primal, fundamental level : I accept you. I celebrate you. It’s ok to be Deaf. It’s ok to be YOU!
