The New Zealand Taxpayersโ Union is once again calling on the Government to rule out any bed tax that would apply to domestic travellers.
Taxpayersโ Union Communications Officer, Ella Dickson, said:
โUntil rates are capped, councils are already taxing and spending more and more each year. The last thing they need is yet another cash grab.โ
โAn โalliance of mayorsโ may want a bed tax, but taxpayers donโt. The least Kiwis deserve is an untaxed holiday in their own country.โ
โNational promised us โno new taxesโ. They need to deliver on that promise and put the โbed taxโ idea to bed.โ

Hating the success of others won't make you wealthier.
A growing economy needs more people starting businesses, creating jobs, investing capital, and taking risks. Not politicians pitting New Zealanders against each other and taxing everyone more.
The goal shouldn't be fewer successful people, but more!
@chrisluxonmp Oh rrally? And how are ypu going to do that for SAHMs and those of us with NO job and NO income?
Guess women who rase kids and suffer in their careers to do so, arent worth crap to you
@TheZeitgeistNZ Its an AWFUL idea if you are on a low income or have no income at all and are already striggling.
Guess which gender this will impact the most...
@NZNationalParty Children also desrve decent school meals, but I don't see that happening under National.
The wbole world runs on children who have grown up & entered the work force, yet selfish govt and even more selfish adults want to reap the benefits without investing in the next generation
