Some #Initial #Reviews of my #book “Impacting Lives: My Journey As An International Development Banker”.
“For anyone who has ever wondered what an international development banker accomplishes, I would highly recommend reading Dr. Kaiser Naseem’s book. Throughout his career as a development banker, he has clearly had an impact on many parts of the world”.
John McNulty - International Development Expert Canada.
“An easy and entertaining read, that has a wealth of information packed into it! This book is truly enlightening, offering perspective on complex topics from someone who is uniquely positioned to share such insights".
Hammad Ahmed – Entrepreneur, Canada.
“Dr. Kaiser Naseem skillfully transports readers to a bygone era, vividly capturing the confusion and overwhelm that accompanied the drastic shift to a 'foreign' market-based economic system following the collapse of USSR. Through personal anecdotes, Dr. Naseem weaves a rich narrative, drawing connections between historical events and individual experiences. The book highlights the importance of guidance and support during times of transition, showcasing inspiring success stories like #Uzbekistan's. This compelling read is perfect for those interested in development finance, personal growth, and professional development. I highly recommend it!”
Dr. Ali Rizvi: Scientist at INTEL, USA.
“A very engaging story of a most interesting and productive life. A very readable and at the same time thought provoking work about Kaiser's journey. Very useful thoughts for the development finance community on how to remain relevant now that private sector investment in emerging markets is well established”.
Matthew Gamser - Former IFC/World Bank Group
“A very extraordinary life story, spanning from one of the top boarding schools of Pakistan to Engineering from USSR and then MBA from Philippines and then working in the field of development financing in Pakistan, as if the experience in USSR before the fall of the iron curtain was preordained for the subsequent role in IFC for assisting FSU countries”.
Dr. Farooq Siddiqui – Metallurgical Engineer, Canada.
“A good mix of development banking and writer’s fabulous personal journey (along with plenty of beautiful clicks). His description about the role of IFC in transforming Moscow controlled economy of Central Asian republics to market economy is quite informative. His observations and suggestions in context of WBG dealings with the leaders of developing countries certainly make sense. He stated it correctly that the strengths of the World Bank can be used more effectively for the better good in this complex and complicated times. Overall, an easy & good read”.

@AmmarAliQureshi INNA LIILLAHY WA INNA ILLAHAY RAJAYOON . Great loss indeed. I remember him fondly always. He was very caring when we were studying in the USSR. He was then in the embassy there.
@nadeemhaque Our economic and financial planners consider getting an IMF bailout is an “Economic Strategy”. It’s not!! It’s actually an “Economic Tragedy”.
🇵🇰 Investment Road Show received tremendous response from international investors & business leaders today.
SAPM on Government Effectiveness Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan delivered key note address & highlighted friendly Investment Policies & potential Investment sectors. (1/2)
@CMShehbaz What a sad day! Strengthening reserves through borrowings and reaching out with empty hands to (now) reluctant lenders for the 23rd time in 76 years.
@asadnasir2000 That’s not enough!! The government also needs to “promise” to use the loans smartly, intelligently and productively for adding value to the economy. Not depleting value as has been going on over the past decades.
