@se4realhinton I’ll never forget the first year I taught The Outsiders. The kids seemed to like it, but it was a rough class for participation. Getting them to talk was like pulling teeth. Then I had recess duty and everyone was planning a funeral for Dally and Johnny. That’s when I knew.
@msjennyxie Well, this got me right in the feels. Also, my favorite thing ever is when immigrants say: My English isn’t very good, but…and then proceed to write/speak better than any native born English speaker. ❤️ your dad
@ThisisKaia@StephenKing Okay, as a former middle school teacher, this galls me. I made my kids do a book report every quarter. (Don’t worry, it wasn’t your typical book report.) and my rule was this: Mom and Dad have to approve it. Preferably no genre fiction, but you like what you like. 🤷🏼♀️
The last photos I took of my boy before we decided to end his suffering. God I miss him.
Good night, sweet prince. May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.
“Every photo a memory, every colour a scent, every smile a sound. A time with him that now has no meaning to anyone but you…Eventually you realize all the agony and grief was actually a blessing, because when your new man looks at you…you feel seen for the very first time.”

“Maybe you are not the catalyst edged as my own edges, warded key in lock,
no meniscus of exactitude where air meets water, but a grotto I grow into, a grove I learn
to inhabit. If you are the burrow, not the burial, let this be the last shell I’d ever need.”
❤️🔥Issue two has been sent to the printers!❤️🔥
This has been a LONG labour of love and I almost can’t comprehend that it’s nearly time to share it with you all
We've seen few humans this devoted and humble as Jimmy Carter.
Quietly continuing his mission, which was to do good.
If you must leave us go gently . Leave your heart and bravery so we might learn.
Thank you President Carter.
Jimmy.

@KaylaGrosse It’s also the same reason why the “funny fat person” Will continue us to exist in media. People forget how many celebrities this damaged (Chris Farley, for example).
@KaylaGrosse No, unfortunately, and here’s why: fatphobia is so institutionalized it’s socially acceptable. It’s become less so over the past few years, but the funny fat person will always exist. It’s the same reason why you’ll never read about a size 24 heroine in a romance book.
I don’t regret loving anyone. I’ve always been the person that jumps into everything with both feet. Getting hurt is inevitable when you take a chance, but sometimes you’ll find something so precious, you’ll wonder why you held back.
2022 started off terrible. Mostly because of some poor decisions on my part to hang on to someone who had let me go months previously. But as I sit here and think about the year as a whole, it turned out pretty damn amazing.
