A federal affidavit filed in the Southern District of Alabama outlines serious allegations against Emanuel Naman Dotch II, a sworn Prichard Police Department officer.
According to the affidavit, federal investigators allege Dotch used his position to conceal evidence, assist criminal activity, violate civil rights, and solicit cash payments while acting under color of law.
The affidavit includes allegations involving a federal murder-for-hire investigation, an alleged agreement to transport marijuana for cash, an allegedly unlawful stop and search near Lotus Gentlemanβs Club, and alleged bribe payments to allow individuals to avoid arrest.
Why does this matter?
As Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood stated during the press conference, allegations like these have the potential to affect many cases, both pending and dismissed. When a law enforcement officer is accused of fabricating probable cause, concealing evidence, or abusing authority, the impact can reach far beyond one arrest or one investigation.
It can affect defendants, victims, families, witnesses, prosecutors, law enforcement agencies, and the publicβs trust in the justice system.
Authorities also stated that the affidavit was unsealed because they believe members of the public may have information relevant to the investigation. By making this information public, they are hoping key witnesses may come forward.
We are sharing the affidavit because transparency matters, and because public awareness may help investigators identify people with information.
These are allegations only. Dotch is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.

For years, the public version of what happened on May 30, 2012, seemed relatively straightforward.
But the records tell a far more complicated story.
In Part 3, we reconstructed Brittney Woodβs final known movements using cellphone records, tower data, archived reporting, documentary statements, and public interviews spanning more than a decade.
The timeline raises difficult questions.
If Brittney told Chessie she was going to meet Donnie Holland, why were there later statements suggesting she was actually headed to meet a friend named Kourtney?
If Brittney never returned home after leaving Lenardo Drive, how did Chessie know Donnie had allegedly given her $300 earlier that evening?
And why did Brittneyβs phone ultimately register its final known ping near Grand Bay at 1:47 AM β roughly 50 miles from Styx River β while Donnieβs records indicate he was back on the road again?
This installment examines:
β’ the repeated communications between Brittney and Donnie throughout the day,
β’ the timeline surrounding her departure,
β’ conflicting public accounts over the years,
β’ and the final traceable activity associated with Brittneyβs phone.

CASE REVIEW: BRITTNEY WOOD
PART 1: The Public Timeline
On May 30, 2012, Brittney Wood disappeared.
In the years since, a timeline has taken shape through media reports, court records, and public statements. Itβs a version of events many have come to accept.
This is where we start.
Part 1 of our case review series walks through that timeline as it was presented to the publicβpiece by piece, in the order itβs believed to have occurred.
Because before you can examine what doesnβt line up, you have to understand whatβs been told.

Over the past few weeks, weβve had several families reach out requesting flyers for their loved ones.
These flyers are something we provide at no cost to the families. Always.
Because no one should have to choose between seeking answers and covering the cost of being seen.
Behind each flyer is more than just a photo and a summary. There is paper, ink, postage, and mailers.
There are the tools we rely on every day, including research databases, public records requests, and the ongoing costs of maintaining our website and platforms that keep these cases visible.
Donations also help cover the cost of travel when we attend vigils, meet with families, and connect with law enforcement and other agencies. Being present matters. These moments are where relationships are built, information is shared, and cases stay in motion.
If youβve ever asked how you can help, this is one of the ways.
You can support this work by texting ACCAHOPE to 53-555.
Donations allow us to continue saying yes when a family reaches out. They help us keep these names in front of the public, in the hands of agencies, and in the spaces where the right person might finally see them.
All donations are tax deductible, and every contribution directly supports these efforts.
If you are able to give, we are grateful. If not, sharing these posts and continuing to talk about these cases matters more than you know.
Because visibility leads to answers. And answers lead to accountability.

A cold case mystery - colder than the icy water of Cold Creek near Morris. 1956: two brothers, a cousin, and their 1947 Ford go missing. 70 years later, their disappearance raises more questions than answers.
HUGE thanks to @ALColdCase and Daniel McCraw! @abc3340
I was honored to stand alongside our partners and friends at Victims of Crime and Leniency today as Governor Kay Ivey signed the proclamation officially recognizing April as Crime Victimsβ Rights Month.
A meaningful moment for victims, families, and everyone working to ensure their voices are heard.

@defense_diaries@PrettyLiesAlibi I thought it might be a long shot. Our oldest missing child case is a 4-year-old that was potentially being watched prior to an abduction, but havenβt been able to confirm that.
@defense_diaries@CoffindafferFBI I almost hope not because the fact she fit through that narrow space in handcuffs without landing on her face is pretty impressive. Some people trip getting out of car with an open door. Not speaking from experience or anythingβ¦

New charges have been filed in Etowah County against Mark Host and Rachel Sears, adding to the cases that have been pending since 2021.
Host and Sears were originally arrested in November 2021 and later indicted in March 2022 on charges of Rape in the First Degree and Sexual Abuse Using an Inanimate Object. Both have remained in custody at the Etowah County Jail since that time.
In March 2026, a grand jury returned additional indictments charging both Host and Sears with two counts each of Human Trafficking in the Second Degree.
These charges are separate from the original case.
πππ ππππ πππππππ:
Jasmine Calloway Host has been missing from Gadsden, Alabama since September 15, 2017.
To the best of our knowledge, Host and Sears were the last known individuals to see her. In September of 2017, they relocated to Kentucky with the children, and there is no indication that Jasmine was with them.
While the newly filed charges are not directly related to Jasmineβs disappearance, they represent continued legal developments involving individuals connected to the timeline of her case.
ππππβπ ππππ:
Trial on the original charges is currently scheduled for April 20, 2026.
Arraignment on the new human trafficking charges is scheduled for April 30, 2026.
These remain active and pending criminal proceedings, and all defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
If you have had contact with Jasmine Host, Mark Host, or Rachel Sears, your information may be critical. Please contact Gadsden Police Department or Etowah County District Attorney's Office.
Read more about Jasmine's case on our website.

She was a bright young kindergarten teacher and University of Alabama student who was leaving the campus pool after a relaxing morning at the pool...but her car never left the grounds, and 24-year-old Chanda Fehler disappeared.
She was weighed down, submerged in the Black Warrior River east (east/northeast) of Tuscaloosa. She was nude and bound by wire.
Captain Jack Kenedy and his team at the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office Violent Crimes Unit have asked us to help keep Chanda's name in the public eye, and they are asking for your help. If you have any information regarding Chanda Felher's horrific death, please come forward.
No detail is too small. Even if you think, after all these years, that what you know was probably already shared, still come forward. Sometimes information from another point of view helps stir new leads or amplify known information. Or different investigators may hear the information differently, or a small detail that was left unsaid previously about a recurring tip.

March 24th is coming up. Another year down. Another year still waiting.
More than two decades have passed since Melinda Wall McGhee disappeared, but the questions her family carries have never gone away.
Someone knows what happened.
Someone knows where the truth begins and where the silence ends.
Time does not erase what was done. It only deepens the need for answers.
If you have information about Melindaβs disappearance, please come forward. Even the smallest detail could help bring the answers her family has been waiting for.
Because no family should have to keep counting the years without the truth.
If you have information, please contact Escambia County Sheriff's Office - Alabama.
