If all income in excess of $400,000 were subject to the Social Security payroll tax, Social Security’s solvency would be guaranteed forever. We could also expand Social Security benefits.
There’s no reason even to consider reducing Social Security benefits or raising the age of eligibility.
Last week, Trump fired the remaining three members of the Election Assistance Agency, effectively disbanding it.
It’s the latest step he’s taken to rig the midterm elections. Here’s everything else he’s trying to do to cheat his way to victory.
Trump wants to spend $30 BILLION on 10,000 more ICE agents.
That same money could:
- Cover all ACA subsidies for a year
- Eliminate all medical debt
- End all prescription copays
He’s choosing enforcement over healthcare. Policing over survival.
I’m reposting this 2008 clip that Trump really, REALLY doesn’t want circulating. It’s him gushing over the Clintons: “Bill Clinton was a great President. Hillary Clinton is a great woman.” So whatever you do, for the love of God, do NOT retweet this.
As a liver doctor who has treated patients with hepatitis B for decades, this change to the vaccine schedule is a mistake. The hepatitis B vaccine is safe and effective. The birth dose is a recommendation, NOT a mandate.
Before the birth dose was recommended, 20,000 newborns a year were infected with hepatitis B. Now, it’s fewer than 20. Ending the recommendation for newborns makes it more likely the number of cases will begin to increase again. This makes America sicker.
Acting CDC Director O’Neill should not sign these new recommendations and instead retain the current, evidence-based approach.
Three men — Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jeff Bezos — now own more wealth than 165 million Americans combined.
They own the media.
They own the algorithms.
They own politicians in both parties.
The system is rigged — but We the People can take it back.
