“What - the actually heck - have I done?” the question front of my mind in the early weeks and months of Knickers Model’s Own, styling myself in a different daily second-hand outfit 365 days of 2015 in aid of @CR_UK Navigating my way through early grief, family life, friendships, work and at the same time running a one-woman-fundraising show, bearing myself filter-free to the camera across the www! Clue: I was properly wingin’ it.

“What Have I Done?” felt like the question most of us ask ourselves when it comes to taking on a fundraising challenge. That sticking point where you want to give up and call it a day. But something inside drives us over that finishing line. How does the spark of the idea actually begin? Where does this inner grit and determination come from? And what does it tell us about human kindness and togetherness, in what seems like a very polarised world.

I open up and share my story with journalist, author and my dear friend @laurenbravo as we explore the origins of Knickers Model’s Own, my year like no other and where it’s lead me.

Community 💜 is at the heart of my conversation with professional portrait photographer Jenny Smith.

During the pandemic domestic abuse rose sharply and Jenny set out to fundraise for @RefugeCharity with her ‘Front Door Photo Project�� capturing more than 490 socially distanced portraits on peoples’ doorsteps within her North London neighbourhood and in doing so raising an incredible £21k 🌟

Jenny went on to receive a Points of Light Award @PointsofLight by the UK Prime Minister in recognition of her fundraising work.

It’s a reminder that on our own doorsteps, in our own communities we can all make a difference.
