Today, the @EHRC has published new guidance that details legal obligations employers have to follow to support menopausal women in the workplace.

We know 1 in ten women end up leaving their job due to their menopausal symptoms so it's hugely important there's a focus on better care for women in the workplace.

However, although menopause does fulfil the criteria of being a disability for many women — a physical or mental impairment which has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on a person’s ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities — labelling women as ‘disabled’, rather than allowing them to have treatment that addresses the underlying cause, hormone deficiency, is enormously problematic.

Only a minority of menopausal women in the UK and globally are prescribed HRT, which is safe, effective and evidence based.

Childcare costs and challenging shift patterns are causing nursing students to question their career choice.

With a 10% fall in nursing student applications in England this year, the government can't afford to exclude them from free childcare.
