My wife tested it out a couple of weeks ago at a @dunnesstores Dublin location and went to use the receipt it gave as part payment for some kids clothes, only to be told it could only be used in the grocery section!! 😤🤬😡 Disgraceful

I 1000% agree with @JohnJCarvill! It's just another stealth tax on people who already recycle at home (despite some confusing labels) and pay their green & brown bin rates (as my family does), and/or are time-poor (as my family usually is), disguised as environmental protection.

The deposit return scheme should be scrapped. It penalises people who already assiduously recycle their plastic bottles and aluminium cans in the green bins which they already pay for.

Problem! Some people do not recycle, dumping cans and bottles in public waste bins or even worse, on streets, in hedgerows, on beaches or other such places.

Solution: Enter the @greenparty_ie. Introduce a charge on cans and bottles, refundable only if you bypass the recycling in your own home and return them, uncompressed, to machines that are often unreliable, wasting time and a combination of different types of energy in the process.

Result: People who toss cans and bottles in public bins, streets, hedges etc continue to do so. Bags of cans and bottles are dumped near non working machines. Many people give up and just pay the charge but recycle at home as they always did, feeling annoyed and frustrated in the meantime.

Conclusion: When the @greenparty_ie loses all its seats and has no representation in the 34th Dáil remember this as just one reason among several daft unworkable and wasteful ideas you imposed on the people of Ireland. We’ll pay your tax and continue to carefully recycle, but don’t expect us to vote for you. Perhaps you can store the return machines with the old voting machines that were also scrapped!

Not to mention, this practice requires yet another bin in the house to store all these bottles and cans in pristine order..... separately, mind, so the machines can read the barcode to accept them, before crushing them anyway.

@elonmusk #BugFix Lately, I regularly find that when I click on a video in portrait, the audio plays as normal. However, when I turn the screen into landscape, the audio stops completely. I find I have to X out of the video a couple of times before the problem usually rectifies itself 🤔🤷🏼‍♂️
