@Matthew_271@NRL There is no doubt that last year was enjoyable but it wasn’t real. Flipping a coin 10 times and getting heads 10 times is 1000 to 1 odds, that’s what happened, we barely beat CBR in week 1 and got pumped by Wahs. Our coach and roster are poor. But club is ok with it.
@Matthew_271@NRL You are likely right re 24. The club assumed last year was the start of something, it was an outlier, a pleasant one, but an outlier. The team has returned to its mean this year. It’s really simple; are we better this year or not? You be the judge.
@Matthew_271@NRL Mate, I am 100% staying out of it, it was made abundantly clear to me that the team was on the right trajectory and I was wrong and therefore whatever I think of AOB and his ability, the club locked in 4 more yrs, the club has made its bed. I’ve moved on.
@real_macavity @NRLKnights They don’t ruin mine anymore, I’m at peace with the situation. We tried and no one wanted to listen. Now we are 4 years in and the team is no better. This is the path that the club and owners have chosen. They are getting exactly what they wanted, this is AOB’s team.
Knights coach Adam O’Brien has already begun planning Newcastle’s off-season rebuild, and is confident he will remain at the helm long enough to see it come to fruition 🔵🔴

We are being too hard on the club, we have a coach in his first year, you can’t expect him to fix the endemic problems so quickly. Let’s judge him after he’s been here three years, I am sure that we’ll be contenders then.
Nothing to add about last night, just a continuation of the same stuff every week. No answers offered by anyone associated with the club. Management have disappeared.
I know it’s impossible to change a team in anything short of a decade but the improvement in the Dogs is visible in the last 4 weeks with a new coach. More points and more effort.
When does the media grow a set and start asking questions about Adam O'Brien.
Knights have worse attack and defence than the Wests Tigers. Knights also have worse defence than the last placed Bulldogs.
@NewyFootyFan Who’s form line is improving and who’s isn’t? Their F/A is better and improving, they are competing more since the change. By all means bag me, I don’t care but they are one game behind us and playing better. You seem happy with our efforts and that’s okay. We will see.
@Brettoshank No agenda mate other than to see a team as committed to success as it’s supporters are to it. We’ll see how the year plays out for both clubs but their form line is improving and ours isn’t. Frankly the supporters of this club deserve better than they’ve got over the last 10yrs
@Desperate4awin @Scott_B_71 Interesting point, we’ve seen a number of backs come into first grade with other clubs and they are monsters who take to FG like a duck to water, ours are usually slow, small and lacking in basic skills. How much of our cap is on players who aren’t FG material?
@Scott_B_71 For the sake of the argument, what’s your red line? He’s already crossed it for me and if he was a Sydney based coach the pressure would be relentless. Where do you draw the line?
@Scott_B_71 I understand your point of view, but results are what matters and on what a coach should be judged. He’s going backwards fast and seems utterly clueless on what’s needed. He’s now just muddied the waters to buy himself more time, that’s all.
@Scott_B_71 You’ve heard the Bellamy stories, he is a relentless holder of standards. AOB has just changed the narrative this weekend to imply it’s not his fault. He went from players returning / finals run to saying that it’s a bigger issue than anyone realises and he needs more time.
@Scott_B_71 No because he has an unrivalled reputation for sustained excellence over decades and there is zero chance that a Bellamy coached team would offer up what AOBs team does on a weekly basis. There is no chance Bellamy would accept what AOB clearly does.
@Scott_B_71 Do you know that we’ve offered up more 30 plus defeats in 5 home games than we did in all of our first spoon season of home games. Remember the calibre of that team compared to this one. Time isn’t solving this issue.
