Sister Helene Studler orchestrated the escape of 2,000 French soldiers from the Gestapo during WW2.

Detained in 1941, she continued her efforts after an early release due to health issues, later escaping to Lyons when targeted again.

The Gestapo, unable to apprehend her, arrested her superior for information but gained nothing.
