I may be allergic but that doesn’t stop my love for animals! So grateful for the support of @nyclass, @LightsOutNYS, @theanimalvoters, and The League of Humane Voters. It’s our job to protect the rights and wellbeing of the voiceless and I look forward to taking that fight with me to Congress.
How many horses and humans have to get seriously hurt before they ban the medieval practice of Central Park carriage rides?
Honored to have the endorsement of @nyclass, who have been on the forefront of advocating against this unnecessary cruelty.

@CarlMichaelW Yes! Thank you! How can these carriage drivers continue to BREAK THE LAW with no consequence?? These horses should be living the good life in green fields, not being worked to death by abusers. #PassRydersLaw! Now! @NYCMayor@NYPDPaws@nycHealthy@Lynn4NYC
@galeabrewer I am glad that the driver is getting medical assistance and that the horse is OK but this industry does not belong on NYC streets. @NYCParks@CentralPark_NYC

On World Migratory Bird Day, we celebrate the hundreds of millions of birds making their way north now during peak spring migration, flying thousands of miles to reach their breeding grounds as they’ve done for centuries.
We humans have made their journeys much more perilous by destroying their critical habitat, puncturing their dark sky with bright lights and placing invisible obstacles at every pitstop. At WBF, we admit 2,000 birds a year who’ve collided with windows in NYC, and these are a tiny fraction of those who die in the city every year this way.
Please join us in committing to safeguarding the journeys of these birds! Turn out lights at night, mark your windows so birds can see them, advocate for bird-friendly windows at your office or apartment building and talk to everyone you know about this problem.
And go out and see some birds today! They are singing, foraging and bringing immense beauty into our parks.

@petersterne@LindseyBoylan@laylaLawGisiko Carl Wilson's done more for this district than anyone running. And he's been doing it for 15 years!!! Lindsay Boylan has done nothing, but bc the mayor endorsed her, suddenly she's the favorite? She & her husband are loaded! I thought we want the rich elite out of government 🤔
@petersterne@LindseyBoylan@laylaLawGisiko The bill does NOT prevent anyone from assembling or protesting. They just can't block the entrances and exits when doing so. If I couldn't get into my apartment building because protesters were blocking the entrance I would be pissed. Just move a few feet away from the door!
Breaking news 🚨🇹🇭
In Thailand, a cat that repeatedly bit police officers was taken to the station, photographed for a mugshot, had its paw prints taken, and was officially declared a “repeat offender.”
This belted kingfisher collided with a window at the Deutsche Bank Center in Columbus Circle, a notoriously hazardous facade for birds, and sat stunned on the busy sidewalk where she could easily have been stepped on.
