@LouieDN Guards are replaced as needed. If one is questionable it gets replaced. All sections and guards get double checked every morning before we start cutting. Been doing it this way for 3-4 years and it’s worked well for us. Spend a little extra $ but less down time in harvest.

@LouieDN We do a completely new sickle every year before wheat harvest. 40 ft macdon. It’ll have 1500 acres of wheat and 500ish acres of beans or milo on it. If we do that 9 times out of 10 I won’t even go through half a box of sections between summer harvest and fall harvest.

@SiekerSales We planted ours early because a majority of it needs to go back to wheat. I’m surprised myself that it dried down enough to cut already but here we are. It’s really good milo too so after this years wheat harvest it makes a guy feel better.
