@LifeAfterMyPhD After leaving academia for medical writing, I don't think that the actual work got easier for me, but it did become more finite and less personal. I also felt like I had resources as part of a team if I got stuck or overloaded.
@NutritionNerd I routinely cringe at the confidence of my younger self. I went through a phase of using third person to talk about myself in my social media status 🤦♀️
@jane_wakeford This is mostly why I left academia. It seems like you have to be your own biggest cheerleader to succeed in academia, and that's personally not my jam. I have some academic friends who really like that aspect of it, though 🤷♀️
@LWellberg I like the general idea but I think it puts a lot of pressure on "being the coffee bean". There are times when we cannot change the water. There are times when maybe we need to get softer, carrot-style, or harder, egg-style. And those all have their place
