First they ban alcohol, then they enforce dress codes for women, followed up with marriage propaganda which ofc is hinting at anti lbtq+ sentiments. For a country that insists on being secular it seems the state is insisting on religious culture being forced down our throats.
@RwandaSteve@serge__15 In Biblical doctrine, those are two separate points. One doesn’t excuse the other, as you’re trying to make it. Christians are commanded to: 1. Dress and act modestly. 2. Not be lustful.
@RwandaSteve@serge__15 There are a lot of people who simply do not respect a lack of modesty. What do u want to do, force them to respect it? If you’re assaulted because of how you dress, then you have a point. But you can’t force people to respect you if they find your actions or appearance repulsive.
@RwandaSteve@serge__15 They are simply describing the natural consequences which is disrespect. If you have a job, I beg you, even as a man, go to your workplace dressed indecently and see if you’ll receive the same level of respect you would otherwise.
@serge__15@RwandaSteve That’s true. I’ve found no Christian church that says, “It’s okay to be lustful or to assault a woman if she is not dressed modestly.” If Steve knows one church that teaches this, he should tell us and I would back him.
@RwandaSteve@serge__15 No, I think Serge is right. We have made religion a perfect culprit for everything. In that post, I don’t see where they’re calling for violence against women. It’s true that certain dress codes command respect, while others command a lack thereof.
@A_Byabagamba@ManUtdHeStands I’m not speaking to the scientific debate of this particular issue. I am speaking on the supposed European threat we would face if the government was to ban some European products, and my point is that it would be no different from what we faced when we banned 2nd hand clothes.
