Yesterday, I joined Sheriff Brent Gibson, Attorney General Charme Allen, and Criminal Court Clerk Mike Hammond to mark the beginning of Domestic Violence Awareness month.
Knox County's Bridge to Safety program combats domestic violence by offering resources to those in need.
Thank you to the @knoxchamber for inviting me to share about my vision to make Knox County the most business-friendly place in the country.
We're here to send the message that Knox means business. I look forward to our continued partnership with the chamber.
I loved sitting down with students from the University of Tennessee's The Daily Beacon to talk about my experience as a UT alum and my vision for Knox County.
I'm passionate about expanding opportunities for young Tennesseans to stay in Knox County and pursue the American Dream.
Today, we celebrate the life, legacy, and enduring impact of one of East Tennessee’s brightest lights, Dolly Parton.
May we honor her many contributions to our community by carrying forward the spirit of generosity, compassion, and service she demonstrated throughout her life.
It’s Dolly Day!
To celebrate, Petros is donating 25% of all their drink sales today to support Dolly Parton Children's Hospital in honor of National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Head to Petros, grab a drink, and make a difference!
This Friday, 9/25, @PetrosChili is celebrating Dolly Day by teaming up with Dolly Parton Children's Hospital to support their mission.
All day Friday, 25% of every drink sold will go towards the life-changing work Children’s does for Knox County's smallest residents.
This week, I had the pleasure of joining the inaugural episode of the 865 Live Podcast!
This student led initiative gives Knox County students the opportunity to connect with community leaders while highlighting the people and industries that make our community so special.
I want to thank county commission for passing the Data Center Moratorium.
This moratorium prohibits the approval of data center construction for one year, allowing Knox County time to conduct research, hear from our community, and establish regulations before moving forward.
It was a blessing to speak at the Crown College Business Forum last week.
This event showcased the amazing people that Crown College develops into strong Christian leaders who strengthen our community.
I appreciate Chairwoman Hill for pulling her veto override motion for the John Sevier Highway development PILOT.
The proposal would have cost Knox County taxpayers significantly more than it was worth for an 8.5% savings for some of the renters.
Last week, I had the honor of remembering and recognizing the remarkable service of those Missing in Action and Prisoners of War on National POW / MIA Day.
The observance was a reminder of what it truly means to be a patriot.
I’ve really enjoyed the opportunity to connect with several of our County Commissioners this week, including Adam Thompson, Andy Fox, Angela Russell, Shane Jackson, and Brandon Huckaby.
I look forward to working with all of our commissioners to deliver results for Knox County.
Here’s what we’ve accomplished so far:
Flock cameras are down or covered, taxpayers have been protected from a bad business deal, and we are doing a deep dive into the county budget.
I have also enjoyed meeting with our wonderful staff and elected leaders across Knox County.
I'm proud to co-sponsor an ordinance with Commissioner Huckaby to put an end to self-dealing pay raises for Knox County politicians.
Transparency and accountability are top priorities for my administration, and I look forward to the commission's swift passage of this ordinance.
I had the pleasure of spending the morning with @GovBillLee at the Knoxville Chamber's breakfast. I am grateful for his dedicated service to our state over the last eight years.
Because of his leadership, students in Tennessee have access to greater educational opportunities.
I was honored to speak at Salvation Army's annual Cup of Hope Luncheon to share a little about my vision for Knox County and our shared mission of making sure everyone has access to the American Dream.
This morning, I joined Dolly Parton Children’s Hospital at the ribbon cutting for their new main campus pediatrics office.
Knox Couty is grateful to have partnered with @dollychildrens to make this facility possible.
