That's one of the aspects of Kurapika that I like, even though he restrains himself and tries to be cold and unapproachable, at the end of the day, he's still that same kid with a rich inner emotional world deep down.
He tends to praise his allies which is something he does since he was a kid. A habit he retains even into adulthood, though it's inwarly. However, when he feels at ease and the constant positivity of his friends rubs off on him, he says the most intense, heartfelt words possible.
