@naledimashishi Tbh, if I can avoid spanking my kids, I will. Mostly because I don't think I'd be as wise to know when and how to not spare the rod with my own kids because I do think it takes a special person to do it right.

@naledimashishi But that's what I mean regarding good parenting. Only an awful person and human being would think it's OK to spank a 3 year old. My whole point was that my mom only spanked me when I could comprehend how my own actions led to the consequences.

The big difference was that I was warned numerous times before any beating and sat down after where my mom would explain what I'd done wrong and end off with a hug.
