So yeah… this question actually takes me back…. It brings this deep sense of nostalgia, like a proper throwback feeling walahi 😭
I remember when I lost my phone back then… a Nokia C5. I had gone to watch a Nigerian match..one of those youth tournaments, maybe U-17 or U-20, I can’t even remember exactly. I was trying to charge my phone, and before I knew it, it was gone..everywhere first blur
And at that moment, I just knew… the weeks and months after that were going to be boring. No phone, nothing to keep me engaged. So I told myself, i need to figure something out… I need something to fill that gap. That was how my radio phase started.
No be to listen and drop, I was locked in. I actually had a routine. A proper schedule.
Monday nights? I’m tuned in to Lean on Me with Tony Amole on capital FM Abuja. No questions.
Then mornings, especially around 8 a.m..my younger brother and I, we never missed Half Time Mede Mede. Anchored by Bernard Gbadamasi (@kobokomastercom and Totori Master. That one was non-negotiable on Brilla FM.
Later in the day, around 4 p.m., when you hear the soundtrack of Davido’s Dami Duro, you know it was Full Time Mede Mede. Same energy, same vibes… same anchors.. Then there were other voices you just grow attached to Joy Chibueze, Ferdinand Durouha … and on Champions League nights? Madness. Pure vibes on the watchalong with the entire Brilla crew.
And music wasn’t even left out, i had a routine for that. Friday nights were for discovering songs. You’d just tune in to Rythm FM and hear music you’ve never heard before… no skipping, no control, just vibes.
Then on the side, there was Boazobia FM with Them Say Them Say. That one? That was our Twitter before Twitter. Just funny, wild gist from everywhere “this person did this in London,” random stories… but it kept you hooked… then the connect me back series where you look to reconnect with so manu people you have met and lost contact .
Honestly… it was simple, but it was special.
Looking back now, it was fun. Real fun.
What an emotion to see the entire Black African community unite to protect one of our leaders and president, Captain Ibrahim Traoré. What a pleasure to finally see that consciousness is awakening!
Rev. Isaac Omolehin was to a minister for 7 days in a 7-day crusade in the USA 🇺🇸 & only one person was in attendance.
On the first day, only one person attended the crusade.
The host considered canceling the crusade but since 1 person, a lady, attended the first day, they considered doing it on the 2nd day as well.
They asked her if she would come, she said she wasn’t sure.
This story is a really intriguing one, pls watch 👇
I pray for you that the mercy of God will locate you in this season.
When you see people who often talk a lot about your conduct suddenly become mute and careless about you, just know that they have tolerated you enough to allow you to sink.
People know talk no mean say wetin you talk make sense…..
