Future College Football Commissioner Josh Pate says that Tennessee fans had “unrealistic expectations” for the 2025 Vols:

“Here’s the problem… some people who had, I think, unrealistic expectations for this team, are now getting mad at the team for not fulfilling on their unrealistic expectations,” said Pate. “Tennessee is right in line to do what I thought they were gonna do.”
