I’ve just come across shocking news, this government is planning to privatize (sell) 5 public beaches: Takaungu, Msambweni, Vipingo, Kipungani and Matondoni.

And not just that, they also want to sell 4 islands: Kiwayu, Manda, Chale and Funzi.

Fellow Kenyans, if we cannot speak now, they will sell even your homes next.

They started by grabbing public grounds, then came for markets, forests, and rivers.

Now they are selling the last free spaces where ordinary Kenyans can go to breathe, relax, and touch the ocean without paying.

How greedy can leaders become?
How do you sell beaches and islands that belong to the people?

Look at Nairobi today, not a single open public ground left. Children grow up without playgrounds. Families have nowhere to picnic or rest unless they pay.

In Mombasa, the once beautiful public beach has been squeezed into a tiny corner where Kenyans struggle to find space during holidays.

Now they want to do the same to the rest of the coast.

They are testing the waters, to see if we’ll stay silent.

But I want to tell them this: Kenyans are not blind. We see what you are doing.

We will not watch as you sell our heritage, our beaches, our islands, and our children’s future.

Today it’s Takaungu and Manda. Tomorrow it could be your home, your shamba, your cattle.

They have turned leadership into business, and the country into a supermarket.

Fellow Kenyans, it’s time to speak up loudly, not tomorrow, now.
If you love this country, if you believe Kenya belongs to its people, not to a few greedy hands, then let your voice be heard.

Let them see that we are awake.
