The only reason why I brought this up is because I was testing Google AI with SNES knowledge and Google AI seems to think DMA causes slowdown.

I think I confused everybody in the past when I talked about SNES DMA speed being a problem since people seem to conflate it with CPU speed.

Using up DMA bandwidth doesn't cause slowdown, it causes the top few scanlines to be blacked out.

OAM (which holds the X and Y coordinates and the CHR index) is only 544 bytes and is small enough to update in Vblank.

It's only the animation frames you have to be careful with.
