Is It A Good Thing That BBC Hausa Has More Influence On Nigeria Than Any Nigerian Institution?
One of my greatest desires for Nigeria is for our government to invest in a Hausa-language-only radio station, possibly called Radio Nigeria Hausa. Then hire the best and most eloquent Hausa-language speakers and journalists, and set up a system that makes the station, though government-owned, completely independent and objective.
It will be necessary to pay such journalists world-class salaries, even if the Federal Government has to grant a special dispensation for that, otherwise the idea will not work. Foreign Hausa service radio stations will just snap them up.
You may ask, why Hausa? Because, whether you like it or not, Hausa is the most widely spoken tongue in West Africa and is the most advanced indigenous language in Nigeria.
Approximately 50% of Nigerians speak Hausa. And for many of them, that is the only language they speak.
And apart from Lukumi Yoruba, Hausa is the only growing tongue in Nigeria. All other native languages are slowly becoming extinct because fewer and fewer people are speaking those dialects each year, as English encroaches on those languages.
This is so important because, unbeknownst to many Nigerians, BBC Hausa is the most influential and most listened-to media in Nigeria. Approximately 20 million people listen to BBC Hausa each week. Maybe more.
I challenge you to name another media, whether TV, radio, or newspaper, with such a wide reach.
Media reach in Nigeria is still dominated by radio. Please fact-check me.
Again, fact-check me: BBC Hausa service has an 89% trust rating in Nigeria.
I am not sure I can name any public or private institution in Nigeria with such a high trust rating! Can you?
And that trust rating is why some of the most important news ever aired in Nigeria was broken by the BBC Hausa service, including the famous Yar'adua interview from his sick bed and the death of Abacha.
Channels Television may have a reach of twenty million viewers. Some might say that is arguable. But even at that, what class of people watch Channels? You need a television and a constant power supply to watch Channels.
But all you need to listen to the BBC Hausa service is a battery-powered radio. And unlike a television set, that radio is so portable, you can take it everywhere.
And here is the thing. How can the most influential media in Nigeria be controlled by a foreign power? Think about it. The British Broadcasting Corporation is a public service broadcaster established, owned, controlled, and operated by the British government.
The BBC Chairman is appointed by His Majesty The King on the advice of the UK government, and the British government appoints the board.
No matter how benevolent they may be, the first priority of the Chairman and the board of the BBC would be to promote British interests.
Now, let me put it to you as plainly as possible: The most influential media in Nigeria, which to a large extent determines the world and country view of perhaps a majority of Nigerians, is foreign-owned.
So, what happens when British and Nigerian interests clash, as has happened before and will occur again?
Yes, the BBC Hausa is convenient for Nigeria. However, it is not expedient for Nigeria.
I am not sure any European country or indeed any nation in the Western Hemisphere will tolerate such a state of affairs.
For a media to have such a stranglehold on Nigerian listeners, my opinion is that it must be Nigerian. Otherwise, our independence and sovereignty are undermined.
We, as a people, must not underestimate the power of the media. The United States is as much a superpower because of its media as because of its military-industrial complex.
If they choose to, the BBC Hausa service can influence who Nigerians vote for, what products they buy, and which global bloc they align with.
That is too much influence for a foreign power to have over a sovereign nation.
Crazy how the best referee in Africa and the reigning African Referee of the Year, Omar Abdulkadir Artan officiated only TWO matches at AFCON 2025. 🚨🇸🇴
He wasn’t sick.
He wasn’t injured.
He stayed for the entire tournament.
Yet he was consistently overlooked for major appointments.
For a referee of his quality, experience and recognition, that’s extremely difficult to understand.
African football deserves transparency.
Merit should always come first.
Really strange. 👀

The safest way to travel is by plane. Do you know why?
Because they crash.
A few months ago, I learned a concept called Black Box Thinking which is a system that defines how entire industries respond to failure.
In aviation, when a plane crashes, they don't just look for who to blame.
They find a device called a Black Box, retrieve the data, and then ask what went wrong with the system.
And there is a reason for this.
To explain this, there is a famous story of a crash involving an Asian airline years ago.
When investigators listened to the recording from the black box, they found the engine didn't just fail on its own, the junior pilot actually noticed a mistake.
But because of a cultural hierarchy in Asia that demanded absolute respect for elders, he didn't question his senior pilot.
Instead, he hinted and spoke softly and the plane crashed.
That tragedy changed aviation safety forever.
It moved the focus from "Who made the mistake?" to "Why did the system allow this mistake?"
As we stand on the 29th of December, looking back at 2025, I want you to adopt this strategy of Black Box Thinking.
Most of us look at our failures this year and feel shame.
We hide the crash, and blame the economy, government, or something that does not exist.
But Black Box thinking demands a harder question: "How did I contribute to this problem?"
Did I stay silent when I should have spoken up?
Did I rely on motivation instead of a system?
Did I ignore the data because of my ego?
Don't bury your failures of 2025.
Open the box and analyze it.
Because that is the only way to fly safer in 2026.

Why does the timing of the Magi seem confusing when compared with Luke’s Gospel? Are the timelines of Matthew and Luke actually in tension?
It only feels like a problem if we assume both evangelists are describing the same moment. They are not. Matthew and Luke are telling different parts of the story, to different audiences, for different theological purposes. Once that is recognized, the timeline makes sense.
Luke records events that occur within the first forty days after Jesus birth: circumcision on the eighth day, the formal naming of Jesus, and the presentation in the Temple (Luke 2:21–38). These are not incidental details. Luke is showing Jesus lawful entry into Israels covenant life. The Messiah does not stand above the Law. He enters it fully and publicly.
The naming matters. Jesus is not named by family preference or cultural custom, but in obedience to divine instruction. The name Jesus means the Lord saves. Luke is showing that the child identity and mission are given by God himself before Jesus ever acts or speaks.
That Temple scene is not sentimental. It is juridical and prophetic. Simeon and Anna are not random elderly figures. They are credible witnesses shaped by Scripture and long expectation (Luke 2:25–26, 36–38). When Simeon speaks of salvation, light to the nations, and glory for Israel, he is consciously echoing Isaiah language that first-century Jews would immediately recognize (Isa 42:6; 49:6).
Israel recognizes her Messiah in the place where law, worship, and promise meet.
Matthew is doing something different.
Matthew never says the Magi arrive at the birth itself. He simply says they come after Jesus was born (Matt 2:1). When they arrive, Jesus is described as a child, not a newborn, and he is in a house, not a manger (Matt 2:11). That alone points to a later visit and leaves a reasonable window of time after the Temple events, possibly months later.
Herod response reinforces this. Known historically for paranoia and brutality near the end of his reign, Herod orders the death of boys two years and under (Matt 2:16), which reflects uncertainty about timing, not a same-day event.
Luke and Matthew are not contradicting each other. They are complementary.
Luke shows the Messiah recognized within Israel by the faithful remnant.
Matthew shows the Messiah recognized by the nations.
When we let each evangelist tell his own story on his own terms, the apparent tension disappears. Luke and Matthew are not competing timelines but coordinated testimonies, revealing that Jesus is the Messiah, Israels obedient son, and the savior whom the nations are drawn to seek, revealing that Jesus is the Messiah, Israels obedient son, and the savior whom the nations are drawn to seek, as the hopes of Israel come to fulfillment and the promise made to Abraham begins to reach people from all nations.
Without daily devotion, you cannot live the Christian life .
Carnality will just overrun you , it will be so bad you will question your salvation and victory over sin .

Title: The Soul-Warping Power of Masturbation:
I am bring this post back to the timeline again.
I want to begin this message by sharing a powerful metaphor from a well-known story. In The Lord of the Rings, there is a tragic character named Gollum, who was once an innocent hobbit named Smeagol. Hobbits are peaceful, nature-loving beings who enjoy simplicity, laughter, and community. Smeagol was one of them, until one day, while fishing with his cousin Deagol, his life changed forever.
Deagol discovered a beautiful golden ring at the bottom of a river. It sparkled and shimmered with an unnatural beauty. When Smeagol saw it, he was consumed with desire. He asked Deagol to give him the ring as a birthday gift. Deagol refused, and in a fit of obsession and rage, Smeagol murdered his own cousin to take the ring.
That moment marked the beginning of his descent.
Smeagol retreated from society, isolating himself in the dark caves of the Misty Mountains. He stopped caring about friends, family, or even his own appearance. The ring became his only companion, his “precious.” The longer he held onto it, the more it corrupted him. He lost his identity, his innocence, and his humanity. He transformed into Gollum, a shadow of his former self, driven by obsession, fear, and shame.
This is not just fantasy. This is the reality of countless people today, enslaved not by a magical ring, but by a secret habit: masturbation. There “Precious”
For many, masturbation begins during adolescence, sparked by curiosity, boredom, or even peer pressure. Sometimes it’s discovered by accident. At first, it may seem harmless, a way to cope with sexual urges or emotional stress. Some even convince themselves it’s natural or healthy. Society often encourages this. Movies normalize it. Influencers joke about it. Even certain health professionals call it “normal.” But the truth is far deeper and far darker.
Masturbation is not just a physical act, it is a spiritual trap.
What begins as a single act soon becomes a repeated cycle, and eventually, a bondage, a spiritual chain that wraps itself around the soul, mind, and body. It becomes an addiction, a secret idol, and eventually, a spiritual covenant.
Let’s not sugarcoat it. masturbation is sin, and sin always brings spiritual consequences.
THE INVISIBLE MASTER BEHIND THE ADDICTION
Have you ever wondered why it’s so hard to stop? Why does it feel like no matter how much you hate it, you keep going back? That’s because, over time, masturbation is no longer just about your body, it’s about your spirit being enslaved by a dark power.
You are no longer the one in control. There is a master behind the addiction. The Bible is clear that whoever commits sin becomes a slave to it (John 8:34). Sin opens doors. And unrepented sin becomes an entry point for demonic influence.
In my previous post about unclean spirit, I wrote about how demons become the masters of those who live in sin. They influence the thoughts of their victims, making them do what they hate. The same applies here. Masturbation and pornography are open doors for demons. When these spirits enter, they don’t just affect your body, they target your destiny.
MASTURBATION: AN UNHOLY UNION
Sex, by God’s design, is a sacred act between a man and a woman in a covenant of marriage (Genesis 2:24). It is not just physical, it is spiritual. It is meant to reflect the intimacy and oneness between Christ and the Church (Ephesians 5:31–32). But masturbation mocks and violates that design. It is a form of spiritual perversion.
You may think you’re alone when you masturbate, but you are not. There is a spiritual entity involved. That’s why for some people, masturbation even feels more “pleasurable” than sex. It’s because you’re engaging with an invisible presence, a demonic spirit of lust or perversion. When this happens repeatedly, you form a spiritual bond or covenant with that spirit. You become emotionally attached, spiritually entangled, and mentally enslaved.
THE DANGERS: SPIRITUAL, EMOTIONAL, AND PHYSICAL
When you open yourself to unclean spirits through masturbation and pornography, you give them legal rights to operate in your life. These are the fruits they produce:
•Sex in dreams
•Delay in marriage or failed relationships
•Depression, guilt, emotional numbness
•Strange setbacks and closed doors
•Suicidal thoughts, isolation, and shame
•Loss of spiritual hunger and passion for God
•Dreams involving snakes, water, or strange people
•A defiled conscience and broken identity
The Bible says in Proverbs 25:28, “A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.” When you lack self-control, your spiritual walls are down, and demons find easy access. That’s why Paul warns us in Ephesians 4:27 not to give the devil a foothold.
1 Corinthians 6:19–20 reminds us:
“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you…? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.”
When you masturbate, you are dishonoring God with the very body He redeemed. You are defiling His temple. And just like sex outside of marriage defiles, so does sex with yourself, especially when it involves images, fantasies, and demonic presence.
Why Overcoming Masturbation Requires God’s Help
One important truth about trying to stop masturbation by personal effort alone is that many people do not fully overcome it. A lot of individuals sincerely decide to stop, make promises to themselves, and even try different methods, yet they often find themselves falling back into the same habit. This happens because the struggle is not only physical but deeply spiritual and mental. Stopping on one’s own strength is difficult because, over time, the habit gains control over the mind and desires. The person slowly loses self-control and becomes enslaved to it, no longer acting freely but being driven by urges. That is why true freedom often requires more than willpower, it requires spiritual help, repentance, prayer, and dependence on God’s grace for lasting deliverance.
PRACTICAL STEPS TO FREEDOM
Yes, masturbation can be overcome. God can deliver you, but you must take the first step today. Show God that you are serious about stopping, make the move, and watch Him work in your life. The practical steps may differ for each person, as the Holy Spirit can guide us individually, but it always begins with seeking God and removing the triggers that lead to the habit.
1. Confess your sin. Don’t hide from God. Be real. Repent with sincerity.
2. Pray for deliverance. Seek help. You don’t have to fight alone.
3. Delete all triggers. Remove every form of pornography or sexual content.
4. Avoid isolation. Isolation is where the enemy thrives.
5. Fast regularly. Fasting crucifies the flesh and empowers your spirit.
6. Read the Bible. The Word of God cleanses the mind and feeds the soul.
7. Guard your eyes and ears. Don’t feed the lust. Starve it.
8. Stay accountable. Confide in a mature believer who can support you.
9. Say no to fornication. Don’t open new doors while closing old ones.
10. Keep pressing forward. If you fall, rise again. Don’t let shame keep you down.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE
Many Christians today, including leaders, youth ministers, and church workers, are silently struggling with this demon. But deliverance is possible. You can be free. You were not made to be a slave. You are a child of God. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead can break the chains of lust and addiction in your life.
Jesus came to set the captives free. (Luke 4:18) If He set others free, He can set you free too.
TODAY IS YOUR DAY OF VICTORY
Masturbation has ruined many destinies. But you don’t have to be another casualty. Take this message as God’s call to you. He is knocking on the door of your heart. Will you let Him in? Will you surrender the addiction? Will you choose freedom over bondage?
1. Who was God before Jesus was born?
God has always existed. Jesus was not created at His birth. Before He was born as a man, He already existed as the eternal Word.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1) “Before Abraham was, I AM.” (John 8:58)
Jesus birth was God entering humanity, not the beginning of God’s existence.
2. Did He create the earth and everything after He was born?
No. All creation was made through Him before His human birth.
“All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.” (John 1:3) “By Him all things were created… visible and invisible.” (Colossians 1:16)
Jesus is Creator, not a created being.
3. You believe He died, so how will He judge if He’s dead?
Jesus died, but He did not remain dead. He rose from the dead and is alive forever.
“I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore.” (Revelation 1:18) “God has appointed a day on which He will judge the world by the Man whom He has ordained.” (Acts 17:31)
A dead person cannot judge, but a risen, living Lord can.
4. Who had all authority and power before He was born?
Jesus had all authority even before His incarnation, because He shares the divine nature of God.
“The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand.” (Psalm 110:1)
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.” (Matthew 28:18)
His authority did not begin at birth, it was revealed more fully after His resurrection.
5. In whom was salvation found during the time of Moses?
Salvation has always been through Jesus, even in the Old Testament, though revealed in shadows and promises.
“The Rock that followed them was Christ.” (1 Corinthians 10:4)
“Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it.” (John 8:56)
“There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
Moses, Abraham, and the prophets were saved by faith in the coming Messiah, just as we are saved by faith in the revealed Messiah.
Six Truths I Believe:
1.Jesus is God.
2.He created the earth and everything in it.
3.He is the One who will judge the whole world.
4.All authority and power belong to Him.
5.Salvation is found in Him alone.
6.Whether one accepts it now or not, a day is coming when every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord.
The past tense of God's word and our present-day realities (Part 2)
I like something that was penned by a great English Evangelical he said, "It is appropriation that tests us how too often we stop at admiration."
Appropriation doesn't mean to gain something new but to set aside for our practical possession something that already belongs to us.
When we are taught the word we come to know, I.e., accept what belongs to us in Christ, but to receive it into our lives takes the prayer of faith. Without that word being mixed with faith, there will be no evidence of the unseen in our lives.
The reasoning of the New Testament is that we have already been blessed with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ.
These blessings all need to be appropriated progressively over the time we have here on the earth.
We will daily meet with things in our condition that contradict who we are in Christ, and herein lies the warfare of the Christian faith.
It is important to note that Paul spoke about things, i.e., rights and privileges we already have in the past tense, but you will find him also praying for those same things in scripture. The prayer wasn't for God to give what he had already given but for him to work in us both for us to will and to do. It was about receiving what he had already given us.
Here is where many get confused. When they start finding out they have provisions in Christ, they assume that all those who are praying and fasting are doing so because they are ignorant. They assume the people are trying to "bribe" God with their sacrifice of fasting to give them what they already have in Christ, and they run off with that thought in a straw man's argument.
This assumption is not consistent with the lifestyle of the apostle who taught these truths. He was a man who prayed and fasted often. He said I speak in tongues more than years all. Somewhere else, he said his practise was to fast often.
Was it that Paul didn't know In-Christed realities?
2 Corinthians 11:27
"In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness."
So even though he says in past tense Christ has been made unto us wisdom, we find him praying that God will give unto us the spirit of wisdom and revelation.
1 Corinthians 1:30
"But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption."
Ephesians 1:17
"That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him."
Even though we see him write that the love of God has been shed abroad in our hearts by the Holyghost, we see hom praying that our love will abound yet more and more.
Romans 5:5
"And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us."
Philippians 1:9
"And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;"
Even though we see him writing that God has made known unto us the mystery of his will in Christ in all wisdom and prudence we see him also praying that God may fill us with the knowledge of his will.
The idea of the blessing is this. You are hired into an office and then informed about a store house which belongs to you and is filled with all the stationary you can imagine. So if while at work stuff finishes, just send a mail and it will be delivered. You therefore go to work with an assurance that you have a backup, and if any need arises, you can make a withdrawal through sending a mail (sending a prayer), and it will be delivered.
If prayer is not offered even though the provision is there, you will work as one who doesn't have. This is the message of the past tense of God's word and our present realities.
Prayer and fasting don't put stuff in your storehouse, but a prayer offered with fast in faith opens you up better to receive what has been given.
Two truths stand firm:
1. If the BIBLE had never existed, the Quran would not exist.✔️
2. And if Jesus had not died and risen again, Islam would not exist.✔️
The Quran and Islam exist today because Satan sought to oppose God and distort the truth of salvation.
