The Nobel Prize in Chemistry has been awarded for the discovery of autocatalysis
The prize went to French chemist Henri Kagan and Japanese scientist Kenzo Soai.
The researchers studied chemical reactions in which molecules can exist in two nearly identical forms — like left- and right-handed gloves.
They discovered why, in some reactions, one of these forms begins to predominate.
The key mechanism is autocatalysis: the product of a reaction accelerates the formation of more of the same product. Once a small excess of one form appears, it begins to amplify itself.
The discovery is important for developing medicines and other substances where it is necessary to produce molecules with the “correct” handedness.

⚡️ Did Ukrainian forces break through the front and reach the Russian border?
The claim was posted by the US ARMY POWER account on X. It is not an official source, and the account itself says it is still awaiting confirmation.
According to the post, Ukrainian forces broke through near Vovchanski Khutory in the Kharkiv region and, for the first time in this sector, reached the border with Russia. In other words, a counteroffensive may be developing in the north of the region.
Ukraine’s General Staff has not commented on the claim so far. If confirmed, this would be a rare case of Ukrainian troops reaching the Russian border in this sector.
Ukraine’s 57th Brigade struck a Russian TOS-3 Drakon heavy flamethrower system near Shebekino on the Kharkiv axis. This may be the first recorded strike on a TOS-3, a recently introduced tracked system designed to combine heavy armor with longer-range thermobaric rockets. #Ukraine
