Kahit anong palusot ng mga liberal at kakampwet, constitutional infirmities are still constitutional infirmities. These aren’t minor technicalities you can just brush aside.

Forcing an impeachment trial on shaky legal grounds weakens the institutional framework that holds government processes together. Once you normalize bending procedures to suit political agendas, you give future actors a free pass to do the same… or worse.

That kind of precedent is dangerous.

But, hey, that’s just one of my opinions.

The other? I’m actually fine with the Senate going ahead with the trial despite all the constitutional defects, precisely because it exposes just how flimsy and stupid the 1987 Constitution really is.

Let it collapse under the weight of its own contradictions.

The sooner this decaying framework is discredited, the sooner we can replace it with something better.

Sorry, but I stopped romanticizing that document a long time ago. Hahaha.
